I saw this in the paper and heard it again this morning on WTAM on my way in. Looks like he has some family matters and might not play tonight. Ira and Luke are going to have to step it up. This is a must win game tonight in my opinion.

Notes:

Larry Hughes did not practice Wednesday because he was tending to family matters. He did not travel with the team to Chicago and is listed as questionable for today's game against the Bulls.

When ever I hear of "family matters" for Larry Hughes, I immediately think of his little brother. I hope everything is OK.

Re: Hughes PROBABLE Tonight

I just heard on WKNR that Larry Hughes has rejoined the team this morning and participated in shoot-around. He is currently listed as probable for tonight's game in Chicago.

Good news for the Cavaliers and I just hope that everything is ok with him personally.

Hughes rejoins Cavs

December 22, 2005

CHICAGO (AP) --
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Larry Hughes rejoined the team in time for Thursday's game at Chicago after missing practice the previous day to tend to his ailing brother.

Justin Hughes, 22, who had a heart transplant 10 years ago, was hospitalized in St. Louis.

"He's doing better," Larry Hughes said. "They're still running tests to determine if the heart is rejecting. It's not good, but it's not as bad as it has been in past times that it's happened. It'll be probably a couple months before they get it where they want it to be."

Hughes said his family often shields him when his brother is ill, but he decided to return home.

"I just had a feeling that I needed to be home," Hughes said. "It was the right decision. My mom was feeling down. When I got home, she pepped up a bit."

Hughes, the Cavaliers' second-leading scorer at 16.3 points per game, has the organization's support.

"Anything like that, no matter what it is, is more important than what we're doing now," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said. "Anytime anybody has to go through anything that's a personal or family matter, that comes before practice. That comes before games. It's up to that individual and the family when he'd be ready to play."
