Greyhounds, as long as you take them for long walks, aren't bad for apartments...

Maybe go for a mini version... Miniature Schnauzers are great dogs (though can be a bit vocal). I usually go for medium sized dogs, but mines only 14/15 lbs. She was the reject at the pet store and one of the best dogs I have ever had.

why not a smaller dog? We have two frenchies, they have such great personalities.
