My daughter has a Caucasian Shepherd that she feeds raw meat and the occasional Maine Coon. It's a bit on the "is that a bear or a dog" side of things. I'd highly recommend getting a pair of those for your apartment.

Have you considered adopting a 3 legged dog ?

Even some of the smaller ones you can strap this (very compact) apparatus to it and really get some nice size.

Reminds me of the time we found a stray ferret and tried, and failed, to find its family. Only it turned out to be a stray mink, who isn't at all as friendly.
