If you could bring back any previous Cav for this next season, who would you chose? A couple rules here.
#1. No current members of the Cavs are eligible (i.e. no young LeBron or young Andy)
#2. It has to be from their Cavs days. That means shaq is cavs shaq, not LA/ORL shaq, Phx Marion, or even Knicks Frasier.
There are a lot of really good guys to choose from, but i was thinking about this today and I think I would go with Ron Harper.
This team currently clearly isn't lacking star power, so I think a swiss army knife type player would be an excellent option. This team clearly has it pretty good at wing with LeBron, Shumpert and JR. I think Jefferson is a little suspect given his age. What Harper brings that neither shump or JR brings is the ability to play point guard as a bigger wing.
Blatt could get really creative with a 25 year old Harper as he can mix and match him with just about anybody. His biggest weakness is that he is a below average 3 point shooter. He did however play in an era where it was more of an afterthought, but had one really good season later in his career where his attempts per minute were at his highest. His career average is .289, but I think with a higher focus on that shot it is something that could easily be improved.
So, what is everybody else thinking? Double down at point guard with Mark Price? Not a bad choice because of how awesome he was, but I feel he is too redundant. would you increase depth at Center with one of Brad or big Z? Would you increase your dribbles per possession and long two output with Dion Waiters?
