Your coach lost you this one. osu was the #1 team, Illinois wasnt even ranked, osu lost AT home, on there senior game, blowing there shot at getting into the NCG. So yea, Illinois had the right to celebrate. Hopefully some of these thugs get suspended for this "big game" next week.

What a difference a week makes, need a win next week to get into the Rose Bowl.

This stinks on many levels. Besides the shot at playing for the title we have:

* A win today would have guaranteed a share of the Big Ten title, even with a loss next week.
* A win today would have guaranteed a BCS bowl. Even with a loss next week, an 11-1 Co-Big Ten champ OSU team gets an at large invitation to the BCS. You know they would have. In fact, I don't think that a Big Ten co-champ has ever been left out of the BCS.
* Don't be shocked if there is a hang over into next week, and we close the season on two losses. It's pretty common to see a team lose a game they're not supposed to lose, and then follow it up the next week with another loss in a game they shouldn't lose, b/c they're still thinking about the first loss.

Illinois is a good team, btw. They will be ranked next week, and the only reason they weren't ranked coming in was b/c of the national bias against the Big Ten that is prevalent right now. This is a case of parity and the Big Ten beating up on the Big Ten. This loss being so late in the season is going to kill our shot at anything beyond the Rose Bowl, but had it been at the beginning of the year it could have been different.
