I'm pretty close to ending my support for this franchise...

You are headed in the right direction. No fan should be expected to support incompetence.

Losses, even tough ones, should be expected and handled.

But blatant mismanagement, illegality, unprofessionalism and bad coaching are unacceptable. And the Browns have been guilty of all of those.

You probably won't follow through, but if you do..it's easy to start with never buying any gear from the franchise and not paying for tickets. Then you can move on to doing other things while games are on and expecting them to lose every game.

Eventually, you really will stop giving much of a fuck and you'll even be entertained by their incompetence as if you were a fan of another team.

Because of our current state of the franchise, where we are located, and our current QB situation, we are not going to get the top tier free agents. To get someone like Suh, the Browns would need to severely overpay. While he may take $60 million guaranteed for Miami (nice weather, decent QB), we would probably have had to offer almost double that to have even a chance.

Marshall would have been a nice trade, but who the hell is going to throw the ball to him? Though Marshall is a top tier receiver, he is a malcontent when the QB can't get him the ball (ie. w/ Orton in Denver). I expect the team to fill holes but spending all the money in one place is not going to improve the team.

Pro sports are a business- now more so then ever. Continuing to spend your time and money- more specifically your money- on a garbage product is just foolish. Pro sports are entertainment, nothing more. If all you are getting from your fandom is aggravation, then by all means stop. You can always return to paying attention when the product warrants it. Right now? It doesn't.

Sadly, this is pretty accurate, and yet I never made an active decision to stop caring for my team. In all honesty, they exceeded my expectations last year. Having Hoyer and Manziel under center, hiring the only HC candidate who didn't turn down the job, and beginning fresh Offensive and Defensive systems... I expected 3 wins this past season.

And yet, despite exceeding those expectations, a year later I actually expect even less. "There's always next year" died for me after the hiring and subsequent firing of Chud. I want to think I'll care as soon as they turn it around, but football just doesn't matter much anymore. Now, if Haslam was forced to sell the team (highly unlikely) I'd be back in a heartbeat. I can't believe the Browns found a worse owner than Randy. It's comical really.

People talk about quitting the Brokeback Browns, but every once and a while on a Sunday afternoon there you will be... sniffing an old Aaron Shea jersey you hide at the bottom of your dresser drawer.

You just can't quit the Browns. It's how God made you.

Ask the Redskins how spending big $ on FA works out for ya. Hell, ask Phil Savage that same question..

Then go out & ask the Baltimores, Pittsburghs, and New Englands the best way to build a consistently competent franchise and they'll all answer, without hesitation, that it's through the draft. None of them spend big $ on FA.

I'll never be done with my Browns.. But as much shit that has gone down since '99, not spending ridiculous $ on a FA is not the thing that should put you over the edge..

I-77 North has stopped rooting for the Browns with these nonsense rants like 13 different times since I've been a member here.

If you're that emotionally unstable toward a freaking football team, you've got bigger issues.

There are only two signings in the past ten years that I can think of that you should be upset with. These two players that the Browns absolutely should have went after in free agency (maybe they did?) are Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. Suh isn't a quarterback and last I checked Marshall isn't either. Suh doesn't even deserve the money he's getting.

Agree on Brees... but Manning would've been like this...

I thought we were all here because we use pain as a sexual build up to massive orgasms.. Razor blades leave unfriendly marks. The Browns cut soul deep. I'm not the only one, right?

Who on this board will cop to rocking the Eminem look in high school? Numbers suggest at least one person did, and it was probably boobie.
The one druggie at my all white highschool did back in the day. One day I was whispering something to my friend that had nothing to do with him. The kid stood up, yelled "stop talkin smack about me, I have a knife in my bag and I'll cut you up." I just kinda laughed it off being young and ignorant. Later that day he was caught cutting up a locker sign that someone stuck on his locker by mistake. Last I heard he was in the slammer for drugs and is a registered sex offender. It was probably boobie.

Was he super pretentious about how he said it and did he throw the words, "quite frankly," "quite honestly" and "Not the least bit," around aggressively?

Not the least bit sorry I attended a high school with actual girls, quite frankly.

Quite honestly I'd argue that Huber did more than whisper sweet nothings to his all male high school classmates.
