FWIW, the Pirates are an organization that is, well, how should we say it..... behind the times?
They're still instructing their pitchers to pitch to contact, forcing them to learn 2-seamers and what not.
They're still also stressing a contact approach with their hitters and I'm pretty sure they think the term "launch angle" has to do with nuclear codes.
If there's any organization with players with some untapped upside, the Pirates would be first on my list....
Just my hunch about Luplow, he will put up numbers someone like Casey Blake did for us years ago, .270 area with 30 doubles and 20 HRs. With the fact he plays a solid LF and takes pitches, I think this will end up being a very good trade for the Indians in the end. I don't expect an all-star honestly, but a solid player at the end of the day.
