They should have traded Durant instead... :chuckles:

Seriously though, he reminds me of Arenas when Arenas was a beast...

ummmm no. though i think there is a good chance westbrook himself holds this delusional belief. that would explain his selfish play and refusal to have a top 3 player in the league touch the ball on every single possession.

I'd like to hear the 10 players that are better than him. I know you can't think Melo is better than he is, and Melo is often considered a top 10 player... Dwight Howard could be considered better than Harden, Paul possibly as well, although you can make the argument either way.

For the record I think Paul is a better PG, but Westbrook is a better player.

And 2 more wins than the Lakers have. And Celtics have.

Don't worry, it'll just be...twenty games before Harden has a single digit scoring effort with a few extra turnovers that makes Thunder fans feel better.

I knew he could score but dayem...it's gotta be that neanderthal look.

Again people who under rate him have not seen what he can do. Especially in the pick roll. Combine that with nice range and an ability to get to the line and you have a monster.

Harden gonna MVP
scoring title tho!

it could happen barring injuries; he's obviously going to get the touches needed it do it

howard is head and shoulders above westbrook (and everyone in the league not named lebron or kevin durant)

lebron, durant, howard, paul, wade, rose, p gasol, harden, love, aldridge, dirk, bynum, kobe [not in order btw]

i also want to note that my main beef with westbrook is that he is a suboptimal fit with kevin durant. kd is the best player on the team and thus the team should be built around him. harden is a much better fit than westbrook, and if okc were looking to optimize its chances at a ring it would be catering to kd.

edit: also, no matter his "ranking" i don't think he can lead a team to a title due to his playing style. that's an important aspect to me. he can work as a complement to another player, but he can't be a legit #1 on a title winner imo.

he is in the 2nd tier of pgs - behind the likes of paul/rose, in the same tier as rondo, williams, etc.

harden is a top 5 pick and roll player in the league.

he's honestly one of the most polished players in the league on offense. high bbiq which leads to great shot selection and converted shots, excellent vison and playmaking abilities, great on the pick and roll....he does everything a player should be able to do on offense. needs better defense tho.

How pissed is OKC right now.....

Imagine if they made the Westbrook for Rondo swap and kept Harden??? Rondo distributing and penetrating for KD and Harden with Perk and Ibaka finishing dunks and playing good interior defense.

I really do think if Harden was ever going to turn into a #1 option-caliber star like he's been these first two games, he needed to get out of OKC. He had a very specific role on that Thunder team which totally suppressed his game. A change of scenery to a team like the Rockets this early in his career where they straight up told him they needed him to be the superstar of the team was just what he needed to explode.

Glad he was able to get out of Durant and Westbrook's shadows...the NBA seems to have gained another star from it.
