Jim Thome Retires an Indian

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i as a fan should be mad as he left basically as the aftermath of Manny, at that point I did not care. This team has been good and bad at what they did for ages so you lived with it. That line up though.

I will never forget that 2011 playoff run led by the Dolan Discounts dream team of Jimmy, Shelly Duncan, Fuk-u-do-me and Jack Hannahan. Finishing 15 games out of a playoff spot, all is forgiven.

I was at his first game back as a White Sox. I wore my old Thome jersey and gave him a standing O. It seemed like I was the only one cheering. The crowd only cheered when some gave Thome a little chin music.

I love Cleveland sports fans 99.9% of the time, but that occasion was the .1%.

That 99.9% has been getting lower and lower on my end.

Potentially the greatest Indians hitter of all-time.
If you're talking longevity Thome takes it, but I still gotta give that mantle to Albert Belle. All his controversies aside, his numbers and abilities were just jaw dropping and I've never seen a more talented overall player for the Indians before or since.

In seriousness, I have no freaking clue who roided. It's why I don't crusade against those who have been "outed" as taking them when MLB wasn't testing.

I was once told by a ex baseball GM that he believed 70%+ of all baseball players took PED's. (not an ex Indians GM, but he did start his career with the Indians and he is still in baseball)

My point is i think its dumb to exclude anyone of the era for taking PED's because the majority were on them. Its baseball's own fault for not policing it better until they were forced.
