John Michael Appreciation Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ok i thought Tait was the standard. Was tate really one of a kind or are we as his fans just too hype? I remember having to listen to the Cavs game once and I was really impressed and I felt like I could see the game. I never listened to radio before so I assumed that was the standard that everyone did.

Yeah, he was that good. Probably not as good by the time he retired, but still outstanding.

I listened to him when I was on active duty in Virginia, and it was like being home. Still, the new guy is pretty good, so you'll still get to listen without cringing.

Joe Tait is one of the top two or three announcers ever, in my opinion. Had he been in a bigger market or associated to better teams, I think he would be more widely recognized. At this point I can only think of Vin Scully as someone who I would rather call a game on the radio.

Is it bad I kind of feel he brings a kind of "hockey" style into calling the game?

He reminds me a bit of Mike Lange or Doc Emerick. I mean that in the best fucking way possible because those two are really, really, good at their jobs.

Sorry, but I think he's pretty awful. Most of all, I cannot understand what he is saying half the time, I believe his words often run together and his voice changes pitch often, constantly fluctuating from high to low. As much as I would like to turn down the national tv announcers and turn on the Cavs broadcast, as I do for the Browns, I just can't do it because I can't understand him. Also, when I do hear what he is saying, I often have no idea what just happened.
