JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Cavaliers had on again off again discussions regarding Shumpert since the 2014 trade deadline. Griffin began going after Mozgov intently after the Love trade was secured. The details of how Cleveland could get these players and the cost were always changing and vague.

For JR Smith to go from a cost to an asset is one of the more fascinating byproducts of Griffin's past calendar year.

In New York, both Woodson and Fisher used Smith as an initiator on the pick and roll. Sure Smith CAN initiate the offense, but he isn't an initiator as much as he is a scorer. Ray Felton, Shumpert, Priglioni, and Calderon this year have some strengths as facilitators, but just aren't as effective as LBJ and Kyrie initiating offense off picks. So, when Smith shifted to a scorer off secondary motion, he is able to use his iso talents and outside shooting as a third or fourth option rather than the primary option. That his how he has become efficient.

In general, Blatt's motion and complex system of picks and screens makes catch and shoot players more of a threat. They don't just create space, they take wide open shots in mismatch situations. Now that the plays and players have jelled, everyone benefits.

I'm very sure that nearly in every series, they'll be a game which Jr'll go +20 scoring with crazy shooting.

Quick rookie Q - Does anyone has anything against Chris Parker

I don't see his articles because they don't show up in the Hoopshype media twitter page. I like his postgame questions, which nearly 100% of the time cover some basketball issue. I haven't read his writing much, but I wish all of our local beat writers asked similar basketball-specific questions. Don't be shy about posting his stuff or starting a new thread if he posts something that deserves it. Only thing more fun at pressers this year was the young Chinese female reporter who was happy to put Blatt on the spot early this year.

Parker has become my favorite Cavs beat reporter. Seems like a pretty interesting guy. Here is his Friday story on what the Cavs roster should look like next year.

But anyway, back to JR Smith's pipe, sorry...

Definitely hoping JR thrives in the post season but his career playoff shooting percentages are not good. 38% from the field and 31% from behind the arc. I was looking at the Cavs playoff experience and so forth and noticed that. Its in quite a few games too so its kind of a trend.

I know that especially if you remember the season they won 50+ games and lost to Indiana. He was terrible also i guess he was suspended too. But those days are over i think. Our offencive machine will give him open looks which he'll gladly make.

He's never been in a situation that fits his skill set this well, so I wouldn't worry. J.R.'s arguably the fifth option in our starting lineup. That's a nightmare for opposing defenses.

The Cavs have multiple players with ice running through their veins.

That's the most insane shot I have ever seen in my entire life. what the fuck, JR, What. The. Fuck.
