In his post game interview on WMMS he said "We have to stop worrying about external forces like the fans and media, to hell with them!"

Way to go hometown boy..drop 2 catchable passes and lash out at the hometown fans who pay outrageous prices to drive to the stadium..pay to park..eat a 5 dollar hot dog wash it down with a 7 dollar beer..sit and watch the team get drug up and down the field for 3 hours then be told to go to hell...

Here's a tip..catch the passes that we pay you millions to catch..win some games and then tell us to go to hell butterfingers..

It truly was a blunder of words, but I doubt he directs the hatred at all the Browns fans. Only the select few doubters and fair weather fans that criticize everything and call for a complete overhaul after every loss. He wants to focus on his game and work with the team to be better next week, rather than listen to what he could have done better last game.

Yeah we can listen to Romeo spew his weekly.."stay the course..blah blah I could care less about winning as you can tell by the same expression on my face" speech but nothings changed..in fact we've digressed. We got worse from last year..not good for a coach whos trying to build up a team.

I am with CDT here....I have spent my life dumping money into the Browns via tickets merchandise etc and have been loyal to the team even after they took it away from me and I get some guy who has been a Brown for approx 6 games telling me to go to hell

Some people just don't get it. He did NOT tell all Browns fans to go to hell. Please reread the second part of the story. Or let me break it down - he was talking about people who you angry people wouldn't call "fans" anyways. People he referred to as "fans," but what he meant was those out there that claim to be fans but are just bringing the team down, not people who have supported the browns forever through thick and thin.
Please unbunch panties and let him be. Joey J is the man, and chose the browns over some more favorable situations (what situation would be less favorable?). So because he said something, it came out wrong, then he apologized the VERY NEXT DAY, just cut the dude some slack. So he dropped some passes - well instead of acting like a damn child, just show him EVEN more support, just when all the people he called "fans" were jumping all over the team for how bad they are doing. The fact is, we overachieved last year at 6-10, our schedule is incredibly hard, and our OC (until yest.) has to be one of the worst OC's EVER.
Just be the fan you know you should be, and if you are doing your best, then I assure you that Joe wasn't talking about you.

So are you suggesting that we not try anymore? Do you ask a professional sports team to give up after 6 games?

Last season the Vikings started 1-4, then ended up with 9 wins at the end. Just missed the playoffs. Culpepper injured, Moss wasn't there... Brad Johnson at the QB with pedestrian receivers and not a good running back to be named.
