She's still walking with a significant hunch and can't do much but there is some improvement. She's not falling down when she gets up, she's able to walk a bit more, and she's resting more often/seems calmer thanks to the medication. The biggest thing now is setting up boundaries throughout the living room so she doesn't get ballsy and try to use any steps.

She is getting little bursts of energy where it seems like she wants to do something, so it looks like she's starting to feel better. She also has full bladder control and while she's clumsy with her legs, full control over those as well (so no paralysis and hopefully no ruptured disk).

The biggest obstacle right now is just getting her to rest so she can heal. The prednisone is making her eat/drink so often that she has to get up to piss every hour. Last night I hardly got any sleep keeping an eye on her but hopefully it's a sign of her turning the corner.

I am semi-embarrassed to admit that I have been checking this thread religiously. I need this dog to come through Cam. Make it happen.

Thanks a lot man. Still a long way to go, but things are looking up.

I'm not even a dog person, but hope things work out for ya cam. I keep checking on this thread.

What's the dog's name?

Kimba.

Supposedly my mom named it after this hideously looking beast,

So don't blame me :chuckles:

After she starts feeling better and stops walking around like a Halloween black cat with her back hunched over I'll be sure to take a picture of her involving some sort of Cavs memorabilia. She usually watches games by my side when I watch them at home.

P.S. Now I know how Danny Ferry feels come deadline time.

Not a big difference in her walking today. A lot more energy. She keeps trying to get up on the couch and stuff but I either yell at her or get to her before she can so she's obviously feeling a bit better. Not a whole lot to report, but if she keeps responding to the medication like this things look good

Ive been checking this thread too. I havent posted because i really dont know what to say, but I really hope Kimba recovers 100% and it sounds like she's doing good.

lol... sounds like progress! Tell your doggie that she has a fan base on this site... we want progress reports, hard work, and no off-the-court shenanigans!

You're not kidding. I was gonna wait until after a big recovery to take some pictures, but I figured some were due now.

Showing her Cavs pride.

edit: Sorry so big, had no idea they were enormous.

It's clear that your dog and I would get along great with our distaste for the nacho man.

Good to see. Kimba looks like a retriever/lab mix. What is she about 80-90lbs?
