Kendrick Perkins - Canton's Enforcer

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Remember how pivotal Joel Anthony was for the Heat? LeBron knows how to play with offensively-challenged centers.

No? Joel Anthony wasn't pivotal at all, he played a grand total of 16 minutes in the two Finals the Heat actually won. As soon as they completely embraced small ball by keeping LeBron at power forward and playing two power forwards (Bosh and Birdman) exclusively at center they ripped off two consecutive championships, not by playing offensively-challenged true centers.

Anthony is horrifying bad, and he's got reduced size, but I do remember him doing a good job one on one defending in the playoffs. In 2011 or 2012

One thing to keep in mind about Moz.

Before this season, Moz's career high in minutes was about 1700 and only 3400 for his career. At his current rate of 27 mpg as a Cav, he'll hit 2100 at the end of the regular season. So he'll be 400 over his career high before the playoffs even start. Yes, he is young and can handle it, but having Perk steal a few minutes here and there might not hurt either.

Yeouch. We really need him playing 30 MPG consistently in the playoffs. Over four series that is like 600+ additional minutes right there.

But gotta figure he's been keeping something in reserve all these years though...the other way to look at this is that he doesn't have that many miles on him. Just keep him well fueled with pizza!

Kendrick Perkins is the best center the Cavaliers have ever seen.

Perk playing tonight? Would be nice to have him available especially against Detroit's frontcourt.

If we discount current ESPN NASCAR analysts, then yes.

Kendrick Perkins will probably be a Cavalier by tonight, and LeBron James already knows what Perkins brings with him upon arrival.

"First of all he brings a championship DNA," James said this morning, prior to the Cavaliers' shootaround in preparation for tonight's road game against Detroit.

"A guy that's been there, knows what it takes to win it all, brings toughness to our interior," James continued. "Great locker-room guy. All he cares about is winning. That's very important to our chemistry, very important to what we're building here and we're happy to have him."
