You think he would trash his coach on a podcast.
If there were issues he may not trash him, but he also wouldn't go out of his way to praise Lue and give him all the credit for all the good things.

I'm trying to recall what kinds of comments Love ever made about Blatt, if any.

Does anyone else remember?

No he hated him because Blatt used him as a spot up shooter and a floor spacer for Kyrie and Bron, and Blatt didn't play him in the 4th much because he didn't trust his defense and prefered to play guys that can defend over him.

You could def tell that Blatt didn't like him as a player and Love didn't like him as a coach

It's unprecedented because contending teams don't trade all-stars who are good citizens. We'd be one of a rare few instances, but I don't know why you could expect we'd get taken to the cleaner's in a deal.
It's not about getting taken to the cleaners, its about making sure the Cavs get better if making any trade. Moving an all star in his prime usually doesn't equate to improving a team now.

The Cavs hit another rough patch in what has been an inconsistent season and as usual Love is the whipping boy, despite the TEAM struggling.

I'll keep it simple.
2015 Finals: No Love, we lost in 6
2016 Finals:Yes Love, we won in 7

And yes I know Kyrie was out too, but the point is too many fans always look for a player to blame, that's who Love has been here.

Loves rebounding is no where near over rated, especially on a team where we already lack bigs.

This is a horrible argument if you’re trying to argue Love’s importance in the Finals. He had 2 “good” games out of 7...Game 1 and Game 7.

Love got a concussion in the first half of game 2 where he barely did anything before that. He didn’t play at all in Game 3 where we won big. He came off the bench in Game 4 and did nothing, and he started games 5 and 6 and played terrible.

Kyrie was arguably 100x more important to the Cavs success than Kevin Love, both last year and in 2015.

I remember the Cavs dominating the Warriors as a team in 2015 before Kyrie went down. I remember them having their way on offense and playing very good on the other end aswell.
It looked like they were having fun and they were confident. I have no fucking clue how they won a chip in 2016.. Just otherwordly performances by LBJ and Kyrie that I seriously doubt they are going to replicate.
Cavs weren't a better team in 2016 but they certainly were in 2015.

As for Love, we all want him to be a factor for the Cavs, especially against the Warriors but if he fails to do so, then it's time to trade him for pieces that we need.

We don't win game 7 without him so while you make valid points it's moot

Blatt knew how to use him. Watching love try and post up while getting the ball stripped every other time is painful.

How were the Cavs dominating the Warriors in 2015 before Kyrie went down? The game was close and went to overtime. Even if you think the Cavs were going to win, it was hardly domination.

Trading Love is the last thing the Cavs should ever think about, especially when the Cavs will get no where near equal return in the deal.

In my opinion, if the Cavs fall short, he probably will get dealt - and I actually think that's the logical thing to do. To be clear, it's not fair to him as he's competed, not complained about being the third option, and been a pro through and though. And he brings value to the Cavs with his defensive rebounding, floor spacing, and scoring. He can get 20 and 10 even as a third option and can probably still get 25 a night as a primary option.

But the reality is that Love is the Cavs most tradable player besides Kyrie Irving. He's on a good contract and is still in his prime. If the Cavs fall short, they really don't have any other ways to fundamentally alter the makeup of their team. Even if you don't get an All Star back, getting back multiple players that could help fill the Cavs holes would be worth it. And if we're being honest, Love has not demonstrated that he plays like a max player against your likely Finals opponent for the foreseeable future. Moreover, Love has injured everything from his hand in Minnesota, to his back, to his shoulder, and now his knees. If it doesn't work out this year, it would be prudent to sell high before another potential injury next season derails his trade value (and your season too).

You trying to revive that Carmello trade?:chuckle:

Right.. they were dominating with their starters. They had a huge lead in the 1st quarter that the bench featuring James Jones couldn't hold. Everytime the starters were in they increased the lead until the bench let GSW back in the game.
Cavs controlled the pace of the game completely. I remember it well, I felt super confident at the time.

They didn't lead by 15 for most of the night but the staerters looked dominant.
