Maybe but I doubt anyone would want to send picks and young players to Indiana just to get TT, Shump or JR in return.

They could flip TT. Minnesota is an intriguing option.

And Paul George had a chance to put public pressure on Indiana today to get a trade, which he must do if you want him here, and he passed.

So that's not a good start.
I knew someone was missing from this thread. What happened to you and all your buddies who were downvoting everyone that mentioned this trade could be a possibility?

Trading Love for George is a lateral move and could very well result in the "worst case scenario" of losing Love, George and LeBron in one year.

Not worth the risk.

IF we did trade love for George the team would have to make it their goal all season to make him all nba so we could offer him the mega max that he couldn't turn down.

Are we confident Kyrie can help make that happen?
Or would it take LeBron taking a step back in scoring to ensure this happens..

Kyrie doesn't have to make anything happen. PG can get his own shot. He's not like Love where he relies on someone to get him shots. He could run second units when lebron and or kyrie rest and do whatever he wants.

that's the most important part; ensuring that LBJ can rest during games (30-32 mins) and limit his finals minutes to 38 a game.

PG and KI can win reg season games themselves- Love's value is less during the reg season and hasn't been able to carry the load with LBJ sits.

PG changes the paradigm.

I agree this is key. I would hate to lose Love and what he adds, but the truth is the Cavs desperately need someone who can help keep us in games when LBJ sits. George can do that. He was very efficient against Cleveland in the first round, his 3 pt shooting was deadly - he can score in a way that Love can't when Lebron sits. It would amazing to get him without losing Love, but I think Cavs really have to consider it even if it means losing Love. Question is, how would they replace Kev's skill sets.

Aside from rebounding there's nothing Love does that PG doesn't do. If not does better.

This shit shouldn't be a question trade him now for pg13. Lmao rebounding just get some bum hustle man for that. Shit sign Charles Oakley

Listening to Windy on the NBA Insiders podcast he said "Indy would be lucky to get Kevin Love in a George deal.

"If the Cavs offered Love the deal would already be done by now"

It's looking more and more likely the Cavs may be able to swing something by keeping their core intact....

I'm skeptical still. If push comes to shove though I think the Cavs will eventually throw Love into the rink.

Phrases thrown around like "early stages of trade talks" and "multiple players involved" make it more likely Love will not have to be involved, but we'll see. On top of that Indiana is self-imposing a deadline of draft day which weakens their bargaining position even more as draft day doesn't affect how the Cavs and Lakers treat the Paul George situation. We know the Wolves want Shumpert. Which teams are interested in Tristan? Anything to make the trade go through without giving up Kevin Love.

This isn't about Love for George straight up, it's all the extenuating circumstances that give the Cavs' pause. Love himself is an all-star player in his prime under contract for 3 more years under the old CBA, and he's demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice for the team as a third option.

We might very well part with that guy only to not be any closer to a title and risk losing the other guy and possibly LeBron as well. There's a reason this deal hasn't already been inked.

Because what the Cavs would like to do is add George to the starting unit without trading Love.
It would more of a nightmare for teams INCLUDING GS to deal with Lebron/Irving/Love/George .

Seems the only way it happens without Love is if some 3rd team gets a hard on for some of our role players and is willing to offer Indy picks. Can't see it.
