And you think Love wasn't a big part of that? You conveniently only want us to use the sample where he might have played decent?

Didn't see you discredit the stats that were posted in his favour either. He's been playing D better recently though but he's no juggernaut either. Will see if I can find his stats during this win streak alone
Ok, Birdy.

Very mature.

In any case it's okay to admit a player has flaws. We can admit he's a good scorer and valuable spacer, we can admit he's a valuable rebounder but the moment you bring up his defense, you get people jumping on you denying this weakness. It's quickly become the new church of Kyrie over here

I'm not mature. Glad you're finally noticing. lol

Here's my problem with posters like you:

Your criticism is disproportionate to Love's actual value to the team. You act like he's HURTING our team. When, in reality, he's a good, but NOT perfect player who continues to consistently help this team win.

We are lucky to have him on our team, but reading your posts, one might conclude that he's a loser.

No I know his value. Most times I talk negative about Love, it's either in relation to the Golden state match up where I personally opine he isn't a net positive in large minutes or when I feel he isn't trying his hardest on D and it's costing our interior(I have a slight bias for defensive tenacity). Against the other 28 teams, I def want him on my team.

Lebron spoils the average fan. Lebron is as close to a perfect player there is. And shooting over 40% from 4 this year elevates this.

I actually think Love has been better defensively at center. While he far from being a rim protector, Love is tough and strong. He plays good positional defense and I was very impressed against Whiteside that he kept him uncomfortable on post ups.

Further, Love at center against shot blockers pulls the shot blocker out to guard Love or leaves Love open for 3 where he shoots almost 40%.

Now that Love is used to play center, I am really liking the results. The offense looks amazing with him there and the defense is not suffering nearly as much as I would have expected so far. Further I think at Center Love is not a liability on defense against GS, he is just not a positive.

I can respect that. There's certainly an argument to be had regarding the Warriors matchup. Although, I think it's difficult to conclude anything from our past matchups (sample size). He was injured the first finals, had a serious concussion the second finals, and last year we had serious systemic issues with our team defense and depth.

As for his defense in the regular season, I don't see a problem as often as others. He's playing out of position, and he's often trying to limit the wear and tear on his body (which is VERY important). All while continuing to rebound VERY well, and while trying to play OK team defense. For the regular season, I'm 100% ok with that.

If he seemed worn down, it certainly didn't show up in the numbers because they were better across the board in the postseason last year compared to 15-16.

Disagree. In the NBA finals, Thompson's numbers fell off a cliff compared to the year prior. He went from averaging 10 and 10 in the 15-16 finals to only 5 and 5 in the 16-17 finals (complete with 2 scoreless games). I think he definitely looked worn down in that series and the numbers back it up.

I give the entire team a pass for the first 12 games because of new players/lineup changes/lack of effort/half the players on the floor playing a different defensive scheme than the coaches wanted as a form of protests. I’m Literally throwing those first 12 games out.

Not saying Love is prime Ben Wallace, but I am saying Love has progressed to being a mostly positive, but neutral at worst defender. Plays really good positional defense and is better on the perimeter than he gets credit for. When he’s on the same page with Bron they blitz and cover for each other on the PnR very well.

Part of it is helping the helper. When Love is expected to pick up the penetrating guard, and no one helps him out, it looks like a guy is dunking only on him, when in reality they are dunking on the 2nd helper(who is often Lebron).

I was talking about love. Isn't that who we were talking about?

Who needs a center when you have Kevin Love!

He's having a MVP season right now. Move over LeBron.
