"Theory says Love to LA", according to Windhorst:

“Love enjoys Westbrook," said Brian Windhorst. "They have a relationship. there’s a conspiracy theory that exists out there that Kevin Love will go to the Lakers this summer, or next summer, and then Westbrook will join him when he’s a free agent, and they will reunite in LA, like they played for UCLA. The guy, the star player he has the best relationship in the league with is Westbrook.”

Windhorst said that in his Friday Hey Windy show. Love can sign with the Lakers, but of course he will have to wait two years for Westbrook to arrive since he is signed through 2016-17. So he would waste two of the prime years of his career (when he will be 27 and 28) in the hopes that Westbrook will then join him? I mean, it just doesn't make any sense from a basketball standpoint. As Windhorst says, this is in the realm of conspiracy theory at this point.

Or Love can opt out and sign a one year deal and wait a year for the TV money to kick in.

FROM SIMMONS/WINDY PODCAST:

In the end they have a bit of a disagreement on Kevin Love. Simmons says it is easy for him to leave win, or lose. Compares it to Revis (go figure, BOSTON!) leaving the Patriots.

Windy finds that premise silly.

Windy says he can't handicap the situation. Doesn't really know. Seems like a fair assessment.

Simmons: "Love feels like I'm the third option on this team... I'm not really that happy. I could go to the Lakers, to Boston to the Knicks or wherever and I could be the guy."

Windy: "Or he could hit three enormous baskets in the playoff run and say this is where I wanna be. ... Everything is in play."

Simmons agreed - that was Windy's final main point. Also, in the end, Windy sort of jokes with Simmons about successfully lobbying for Jeff Green to be traded, and that he can't wait to listen to him lobby for Kevin Love to Boston. Simmons says he thinks it will be LA.

Windy says if Love makes to the Finals (he thinks they will) and that he experiences and likes it, he doesn't see how any "3-year-plan" from the LA/NY/BOS teams can trump that.

That's a possibility, and if he signed that type of contract with the Cavs, it would give him another year to work things out in Cleveland.

I guess it's a foregone conclusion the Cavs would be willing to sign him to a 1 year contract, or two years with the second year a player option? Would any team be willing to offer Love that type of contract? I mean, any team that agrees to that type of contract would be taking on some degree of risk, and in the long run it would cost the team more money with the rising cap in 2016.

He downgraded in my opinion from the cheerleader girl. Then again I'm a brunette kinda guy. :dunno:

Possible upgrade.

Never know if the cheerleader was the groupie type...

The chick he's with is loaded and she quite possibly interested in him for who he is rather than what he's worth.

Her old man (she's an only child) will walk away from Disney likely with a quarter of a billion in earnings.

That's one hell of a way to double your assets.

Did anybody catch Chris Webber early in the game saying James Jones had been "taking over" for Love all season? I can't remember his exact words, but it was pretty funny.

Yeah, he definitely misspoke. Certainly not the first time, certainly won't be the last.

At one point he called goran dragic "dellavedova"

Are they refuting the notion that he doesn't play in the 4th or trying to perpetuate it.

He still averages 7.5 minutes in the 4th quarter!

And he always plays almost all of the 1st and 3rd, meaning he typically starts out the 2nd and 4th qtrs on the bench. The number of blowouts we've had post trade affects this number as well.

If he was playing 4-5 minutes per game in the 4th, there'd be a story worth writing.

They say he's not playing because his % plummet in the 4th.
Be it because of back issues or whatever. He's not playing as well in the 4th, statistically.

This back thing spells trouble - if it flares up unpredictably it could bite us in the ass come playoff time. The Cavs are being real cloak and dagger about what the actual injury is also (or it could be Love himself trying to keep it on the down low for fear of how it would hurt his contract negotiating leverage).

Either way we are better off sitting him if it would help resolve this issue, even the rest of the season if need be.
