NEW YORK (AP) -- Channing Frye forced the third overtime with a buzzer-beating jumper, Jamal Crawford took over from there and the New York Knicks outlasted Richard Hamilton and the Detroit Pistons 151-145 Wednesday night.

The Knicks withstood their third overtime game in 10 days and Hamilton's career-high 51 points, the first 50-point game against them since Michael Jordan accomplished the feat in 1997. They improved to 4-0 in OT this season, including a pair of triple-overtime games. New York won at Memphis in its season opener.

Crawford finished with 29 points, nine in the third overtime. He carried the Knicks after Stephon Marbury fouled out with a season-high 41 points in the second extra period, leaving the already short-handed Knicks with only two available guards

Misprint?

Nope.. seems like a hell of a game. Wish I could of watched it. But atleast the Pistons loss.

The Detroit Pistons should be absolutely disbanded after this one..

I understand the Knicks have 10 guys who can drop 30+ on you any given night..but it's all because they're all 1 on 1 guys...to let this happen..yes Big Ben's gone..but christ what an embarassment..

The Knicks are light years ahead of what they were last year...

They're like 13-18

Knicks are 1 game back of division leading Toronto Raptors who are currently playing without Bosh

we could see the Knicks take this division

Blasphemy..this is all a dream

Isaiah seems to be motivating his boys pretty well... he's getting Curry to average the 18/9 he should be, Frye is doing well, David Lee is rebounding like a monster, Marbury is finally coming around, and Crawford is shooting lights out, not to mention Q Richardson. We'll see if they can keep it up...

Only because it is probably the worst division in the history of the NBA.

Throwing Jared Jeffries back in the mix should be interesting, both Frye and David Lee were doing awesome.

Isiah has made his deal with the devil.

Watch them win it all now...

Knicks are a new team. Nice to see DET lose as always.

Please everyone, don't be fooled by the recent hot streak. The Knicks are not a good team. They are in the worst division of a weak conference. They will be better than last year, most likely because Larry Brown refused to play the youngsters last year. But let's not confuse them with a playoff team. Isiah will surely find a way ruin anything positive before it really gets rolling. But let's hope they can continue winning since the Bulls have their #1.

The fact Chicago does own NY's first round pick, makes me a closet Knicks fan this season. If the Knicks somehow make the playoffs, that get Chicago out of the lottery for the draft.
