Or because he's a me first arrogant prick who would rather sell his children then to give up his touches.
They didn't have an NBDL team until he said either Shaq goes or I go. If they're both the same age Kobe goes packing..it's unfortunate Shaq got the boot but yeah..no one wants to play with Kobe because your going to be the GOAT if the team does bad and you only are allowed touching the ball during certain situations.

A-Mac you are outnumbered on this one.. Its hard to say Kobe is the best player in the world, then say that Shaq had a team full of allstars for this win. The last time Kobe and Shaq played together they did not win, Put Wade and Shaq together and they do win. The rest of the heat are no more outstanding than the loser lakers were.
Bottom line is that Kobe can't take a team all the way by himself. 81 points or not. Even Batman needs a sidekick.. Now take this thread and put lebron in place of Kobe. Lebron, who really is the best player in basketball, cannot win alone either. Robin has to show up..

Shaq cant win by himself either.
Its amazing how people just ignore what Kobe did for that team just because they dont like him.
You are ignorant if anybody picked the Lakers to make the playoffs last year with that roster, but Kobe took them there.
Once Kobe gets a team, its going to be nasty...Kobe is the best player in the L hands down. There is no comparison. Nobody is close. Kobe's all around game is sick.
If you had the chance, would you take a 25 year old wing who is the best player in the NBA or a 30 some odd year old center whos days are obviously numbered. Shaq is a shell of his former self and it took a team full of all-stars to get them a ring.

Give Kobe a team and watch out...he almost single handidly beat the Suns.....I dont like Kobe as a person, but IM a basketball fan and the man is just sick. If you dont like his game, I dont know whats wrong with you.

Ignorant as hell, I suppose that is what is wrong with me. But Kobe's cohorts did not suck particularly worse than lebron's last year.
No doubt Smush sucked.. But his Roland rating was higher than Snow's and overall the lakers point position was better than ours. At all the other positions except SG they were pretty much average. In our case the center position was above average but offset by poor numbers at the 2.
Its hard to argue that you can Give Kobe a team and look out since he had a team and helped to blow it up. I can't argue with the lakers logic of keeping kobe over shaq, since of course that was the right thing to do, nor will I argue that kobe is not a great player, but I stop there. There is something more he need to take a team all the way and I haven't seen it. Jordan, Bird magic all managed to inspire the players around them to play better than they might have otherwise been. Kobe just does not seem to be able to do that...
