Booo Gouri/Jon/etc. back-and-forths. Yay Kyrie's 30 points and making fun of Vardon/Fedor's stupid post-game questions!

lol!

So, you only deny trolling when you haven't been caught at it with a direct quote.

Check.

Um, what? How can I deny something I wasn't accused of? When did I deny trolling again? Rather, when was I accused of it? And then you gloat about it? That's a strawman of epic proportions.

Are you actually suggesting if someone tries to make you responsible for your own words or behavior, whether it be in the last hour or 4 years ago, they are trolling? Is that actually your brand new, fresh out of the box assertion?

Jon, YOU said these things, and you did so in the same manner you are right now - taking on all comers and never conceding even the tiniest point. You derail threads with your bull shit and won't take any responsibility for it (it's everyone elses fault they are arguing with my inane points... I'm just over here in the corner minding my own business).

Our team is in the god damn playoffs with a legit chance for a title and you are in here being debbie downer and arguing with everyone.

Who's the troll again?

I'm not sure I follow.

You did refer to him as a "Rich Man's Boobie Gibson," and you continue to support that statement today. So, just to be clear, I don't get that.

Gouri... do you think you know better what I meant than I do/did?

It's pretty clear. If you "don't care" about something, then why did you bring it up in the first place? Why do you continue to reply. This is what you want.

Who's the troll again?

Clearly you.

Keep responding to snipped portions of my posts, asshole. You don't like being held responsible for your own words, but tough shit. You said them.

Anyway, I'm done with this now. I can see that I'm helping to derail this thread and I won't do it any further - I know you are incapable of such self reflection so I'll do it for you.

Lovely thread we got here. I will now officially enter this pissing contest

Huh? I've never denied saying that a Rich Man's Boobie Gibson is not a top-5 pg, and so far nobody has disagreed with me.

I'm pretty sure everyone disagreed with your implication that Kyrie is a rich man's Boobie Gibson. It seems you're the only person here that is unable to recognize what a phenomenal talent Kyrie is. Damn shame because he is a pleasure to watch and there is no guarantee we ever see another Cavalier who is this talented in our lifetimes. Might as well enjoy it instead of incessantly nitpicking his game.

Kyrie is like if you had Boobie Gibson, except if Boobie could make 3s with people draped all over him, and could dribble as well as the best And-1 guy, and penetrate like Iverson, and finish near the basket like a smaller version of Dr. J who made layups instead of dunking. I can see it!

I can't get too into this because I know I totally underestimated Kyrie before I saw him this summer in the World Cup and then this season. A lot of people did.

Right?! I mean, what the hell is this dude smoking? It's just comical at this point.

No.

But I do think it's possible you're trying to retcon your own remarks.

Do you seriously think I'd change my stated opinion on something because some people laughed at it? Do you think there's anything I've said now, that I didn't say then?

I'd love to get back to some of your other remarks, but this is pretty basic stuff.

I'm not the first nor will I be the last person to exercise hyperbole on the board, but if I felt that Kyrie was nothing more than a Rich Man's Boobie, then that's exactly how I would have phrase it - not as a rhetorical question.

Yes, including me. I've always disagreed with those who claimed I was implying that.

I do think most of the world agreed with me that Kyrie was not a top-5 PG a couple of months in to his rookie season, though.

Notice you used the word "seems".

Personally, I have no issues enjoying Kyrie's game, but I don't have to pretend it's something other than it is to do so.

I'm not willing to venture a guess as to why you think the way you do.. How could I possibly know something like that?

I'm simply trying to ascertain how you can reconcile your statements with the facts. Your position makes no logical sense.

I'd love to get back to some of your other remarks, but this is pretty basic stuff.

I guess.. But it's odd that you choose this tangent rather than the others.

Again, it seems that you spend more time dodging your position and the points presented by others rather than simply stating your case.

This is the most used tactic of someone who doesn't even believe what they themselves have stated and can't really find a way to defend their position. So instead, they simply attack the positions of others from all possible angles.

EDIT: Case in point ->

Winner0724: I'm pretty sure everyone disagreed with your implication that Kyrie is a rich man's Boobie Gibson.

Jon: Yes, including me. I've always disagreed with those who claimed I was implying that.

Again, as I said, the statement you made then is only tangentially relevant to me and not worth that much discussion. Instead it is the consistent and fervent statements made by you over the last several days that suggests Kyrie shouldn't even be classified as a point guard or considered a Top 5 point guard - yet again, you state that Tony Parker was clearly a Top 5 point guard.

How can one reconcile these statements? Again, this goes back to the "Boobie Gibson" comparison, and the incorrect notion that Kyrie lacks point guard skills.

I'm not the first nor will I be the last person to exercise hyperbole on the board, but if I felt that Kyrie was nothing more than a Rich Man's Boobie, then that's exactly how I would have phrase it - not as a rhetorical question.

But ... a rhetorical question is a statement, Jon. You were stating your case then, just as you have now, whether it was phrased rhetorically or not, your meaning seemed pretty clear and hasn't changed in the many years since then and you've since reiterated it now.
