Kyrie out 4 weeks with hairline fracture of left index finger

Re: Kyrie out 4 weeks with contused left index finger

He's injury prone. That should be "insider" content that people should have to pay for. A wickedly deep analysis born from hours of deep thought. Thank you.

He could use a summer in the weight room and some better conditioning. I think that would really help. Also he is only 20. If he gets another injury this year, then I would start to get concerned. I have a feeling this team will starting winning some games come January when he gets back into shape if AV stays healthy. I would bet good money that AV has a 3-6 week injury coming before the end of the year the way he throws his body around. It is not like he is out for 8-12 weeks. There will be plenty of time for him to develop January through April. No need to panic yet!

Those that believe we can't make a large jump in Wins next season are forgetting our plethora of cap space.

Add at least one high draft pick, along with Kyrie and Dion. Sign a SF/PF/C in the offseason, maybe some bench filler...gel as a unit, and we are on our way.

How soon do you forget our effectiveness as a starting 5? Our bench is the only reason we are 2-8. Things remaining the same, all thise scrubs will slide down one or two spots after next years draft. Another couple spots with cap space signings.

We will be fine.

Exactly. The main reason we lost so many games to start the season was our bench.

Cap space will allow us to fix that up real nice... you know, so they don't lose us anymore games.

Re: Kyrie out 4 weeks with contused left index finger

Hopefully Kyrie bounces back from this latest setback and continues on the path that he's been trending toward since HS. It doesnt give me warm and fuzzy feelings to think about the fact that Duke has had 3 Point Guards from New Jersey, Bobby Hurley, Jason Jay Wiliams and Kyrie Irving. The first two also were lottery picks, but their careers were shortened/ended/effected by injuries.

While he hasnt been in an accident like the prior two, it would be really strange and saddening to see this "trend" go 3 for 3.:bigcry:

You assume the starters dont have holes.

What the Cavaliers really need wont be available in free agency. And, the best approximates will be pushing 28-29-30 year old

Totally. Shouldn't have drafted him. What a waste.

never said we shouldn't have drafted him, just said there was a possible red flag that he could have durability issues in the future. not questioning the pick, but time will tell if his string of injuries thus far is just a fluke, or the beginnings of a much longer pattern of injuries.

I'm basing my judgement on the performance through these first 10 games. The numbers, surprisingly, support my assumption. I am not naive enough to believe this level would be sustained. Just proof that we are moving in the right direction. Of course there are holes to fill. Hell, the Miami Heat have holes. The point of the post was to keep people from stepping off the edge. There is potential for this team in the future. We have the ability to surprise next year. The challenge: acquire the right pieces, draft smart, develop chemistry, produce on the court.

Does anyone else find all of the posts stating that he needs to bulk up and get into better condition to avoid injury humorous? He broke his finger, right?

No definition on Kyrie's fingers.

I'm not about to read more of the posts after some of the ones I just read.
Cavs didn't need to KI's injury to wind up in the top 10 again.
The way the talent is on the bench it was going to happen unless Grant pulls off a upscale trade .

Irving is just having some misfortune .Has nothing to do with his age or if he's frail..really people??
He might be injury prone, but if so still like his skill set and ability.

Cavs will just need to get a PG to fill in.

Re: Kyrie out 4 weeks with contused left index finger

Let me know when we are in the playoffs and win a series with these players because until then you statement doesn't mean shit.

Please tell me where all this so called talent is going to come from? Trade for Josh SMith? Oh yea that gets us into the lower playoff seeds and means we are stuck there. This isn't the browns where we claim progress every year and nothing ever gets built upon.

The cavs have been collecting picks and young players, you cannot bounce back after two seasons when the team was pretty much devoid of talent before Kyrie got here. One more good draft and this team is right where is should be. Stop complaining about losing basketball when there is no realistic was to fix it quickly. YOu know it and I know it.

Should have drafted Lillard after all :gheylaf:

The worst part of this injury is Kyrie losing 25% of the season to develop his game.

The lottery angle is okay, but the effect on his game and the other players is a detriment.

So, are the Cavs going to sign anyone now that him and Harangody are out for multiple weeks?
