Yeah he really is. Like you and me. He goes to the bathroom. He needs to eat. He has fathered a child. He has areas where he needs to grow. He has a nervous habit (nail biting, I smoke). He has wilted under pressure situations (who hasnt?) He may feel angry. He may feel scared. He may cry. He may have a bad day. He is Human.

But since he has 'Chosen 1' tatooed on his back and hes really really good at throwing a ball in a hoop, some expect him to be perfect. How would you feel if you had thousands criticizing you for making a mistake, folding under pressure, having a bad night? Many fans have been spoiled, taken LeBron for granted. We see Greatness all the time from LBJ. If he has a stretch where he is not so Great, were are pissed and the sky is falling. Remember he is human, like you and me.

This thread is for those fans that support LeBron James, and are thankful he is a Cavalier. For those that remember the lean years, when the Cavaliers were terrible. If you must hate/doubt LeBron, do it in another thread. Im sure there are a few others around here...

The mighty Greg Anthony said on Sportscenter, being Clutch takes innate ability, and learning/experience. He and I both agree, LBJ has the innate ability. Right now is just his learning process. 5 years from now, when you doubters are watching LeBron hitting clutch shots in C-Town, all this negative drama will be forgotten. Or not. Cleveland fans cant seem to let go of their negative sports drama.....

LeBron James is a Cleveland Cavalier. He is 21. His game will get even better. He will lead the Cavaliers and the City of Cleveland to Greatness. But lets not get too ahead of ourselves, and let the expectation drown us. It will take time and growing pains. Support the Team no matter what we should......

we want lebron to hit the shots. we are not saying he isnt good or that one day he wont hit shots, we are saying that he isnt doing a good job down the stretch in any way, shape, or form.

us cleveland fans are tired of losing. how can we get over negative sports drama when we have done nothing but lose for the past 42 years??? the cavs havent even been to the finals, weve only been to the conference finals once or twice.

id rather not have lebron on the team and be as good as the pistons. as long as we win ill be happy, with or without lebron.

Great post. A little optimism is needed because LBJ is a kid who learns from failure with the best of them. He has to be put in these situations, fail, take criticism and learn to rise above. If you lack experience and aren't put in these situations (usually to fail), you'll never get better. Michael Jordan said it best, "I've failed over and over again. That is why I succeed."

If you continue to focus on it, it will continue to plague you......

The time has come for a NEW drama....

A drama of winning, in which LBJ is the star.......

And the fans are joyous.......

All I know is we have had two teams that were capable of making the playoffs, and fair or unfair, he was the leader and both times those teams collapsed.

The same thing is happening now, and it's doubling as bad because he is the reason we are losing by failing to do SIMPLE things at the end of the game.

He wanted to be the leader, than take the responsibility.

I agree with cali that we all believe Lebron will be a great player for a long time, but now is now and right now, he isn't getting it done when we need him the most.

Yawn! The fact LeBron is at the line in the clutch shows that he does take the game to the opposition. Nobody play hack a LeBron (although tempting). The kid has missed some shots. The kid has put his hand up. The kid though, with help only from Ilgauskas has kept this team in games right to the last moment. Swap LeBron with a Pierce or Davis or Carmelo and we are not in a position to win in the end!

Michael Jordan said it best. For every clutch shot he made, there's ten (some number, i don't remember) that didn't fall down.

I'm glad he's being criticized about this right now (missing hughes and gooden). Every year he's criticized about something he came back the next season stronger in that area. At least this season there's more opportunity for him to harness his 'clutchness'. Last year, we either get blown out or we win big.

Last night, they showed that he's 2/11 or to that effect taking shot with 10 seconds or less left in the game with a chance to win or tie the game. He's been in the league 2 1/2 years, he only got 11 chance to make a clutch shot. Let's give him more than 11 chance. I'm sure Jordan got more chance than that.

rookie season - wowed us beyond the hype
soph season - showed us multiple talents
junior season - mvp form
4th year - all above mentioned and clutchness?

/sign. Good well thought-out post HPD. I wish there was another vocal leader on the team (that still has game) to help him shoulder times like this. Larry isn't vocal but I hope he's keeping himself in the loop, at least with with Lebron, and teaching him what he can.

This "Lebron is not clutch" stuff is simply thinking that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. In the "What NBA player would you choose to build your team around from scratch?" polls that get run every so often, Lebron is always right up there with Shaq. There's a reason for that- he's pretty damn good.

What a great post. Nothing much can be said, HPD said it perfectly.

very revealing information. and here i thought that james was not human. silly me. that changes everything. very meaningful.

Precisely. Lebron has improved his game in so many ways since he's come in the league as the most advanced 18 year old to ever play the game, and people ride him for not being Michael Jordan at 26, when Lebron is 20. Jordan was still in college at Lebron's age.

James will be the greatest to ever play the game in about two to three years, if he continues on a similar learning curve as what he's played to his first 2 1/2 years in the league.

Look at the cup as half full, it's easier on the mind and body.

JAMES DESERVES PATIENCE

Everywhere you scroll these days, someone is pointing out how LeBron James has been coming up short in the clutch.
While nobody is questioning his talent (that would be sacrilege!), there are those second-guessing his ability to come through in the clutch.

They're also asking questions here and here.
-- [Oakland Tribune and Indy Star]

We think it's important to note that Allen Iverson didn't hit his first game winner until Nov. 12, 2004, nine years into his career. By that time, he'd played in the NBA Finals, won three scoring titles, a Rookie of the Year honor and a MVP award.

So, let's gives James some space. Cleveland faces Utah on Saturday, and maybe James will come through in the waning moments. But even if he doesn't this weekend, or this season for that matter, he still has plenty of time left to catch Iverson.
