First up, I'm not from cleveland. I'm not even from the US. However, I have come to like the city and learnt a few things that remind me a lot of the area I live in Australia. So in terms of feeling for the fans moreso than anything else I do. I will never be able to say that I know what it feels like to be a Cleveland sports fan (specifically) but I know what it feels like to be a passionate fan of a team that has been slated to win it all year in year out but couldn't get over the hump. That is until this year. After 31 years we finally did it.
The irony of it is that in a few ways the way things unfolded for us could be the same as how it may go for the Cavs. The team I refer to is St George Illawarra Dragons. They are a team in the Australian National Rugby League competition. The season before last season they got to the preliminary finals. At the start of the season they had just signed the best coach in the history of the sport (Not saying Byron Scott is but he's up there) and lost several star players as well as their superstar (Like the Cavs) to other teams and retirement. They replaced the stars they lost with players that were considered good but more like "fringe" players. Anyway, they got close that season. They took the pain of being so close and it drove them to winning it all this season. It was an amazing feeling. My ultimate point is that I feel the same way about the Cavs and with a few adjustments, additions or even a break out season or two, the Cavs could very well do the same.
Now on the subject at hand. I don't agree with Dylan's comment about how Cavs fans need to move on. If any one has stirred things up it's Lebron with the ad he released. The video herein is simply a retort. I won't even go in to the disgraceful remark that Kobe is on par with Jordan. With what Lebron has done Jordan is and probably will be untouchable, as the greatest, for many more decades to come.
People continue to justify Lebron's actions with the remark that he was just frustrated and did what most people would and look for another option. The problem is that, as was pointed out in this video, that he wouldn't rest until he brought a Cleveland a Championship. What annoys the crap out of me is that I don't see this comment refered to more frequently. I believe it's the biggest issue at hand, for the fans and team.
Clevelands fans should never rest in sticking it to Lebron. Their voice is really their only tool in holding Lebron to account for the lies and he must never be allowed to forget what he did. It may sound like sour grapes to some but in reality it's just a case of the people standing up against this guy.
I mean his arrognace knows no bounds. His response to this response video was "They could have done better"!!!
