Media availability is absolutely contractually obligated and collectively bargained.

LeBron probably would not miss without a legitimate excuse, though. I doubt he gets fined.

Where has Melo been? I'm quite certain neither of them have been available for a few reasons. Namely that LeBron knows the media would make the entire thing about the comments he made about Barkley rather than the game itself.

Ditto for Melo. All Melo and LeBron would have been doing the entire time would be fielding questions about Melo trade rumors. It would have overshadowed the entire weekend.

Does anyone think LeBron cares about not getting paid for the first 5 min of the next game? Probably not.

He is talking about the All-Star game and a game that is meant to be a tribute to the fans and for fun. This is not your normal poster this is Jmoney where everything judged even for the fact of what point of it is. LBJ has to play in the game and the most fun is predicting the MVP of the game as to me. ( I see what you did there )

Sadly I do agree with LeBron taking the fine and not going to the media event. Sure that is cool but when the the All-Star game is kind of fun watch still and because it makes me see the how players work hard and the plays they run in real games and how complex they can be. I like the large scores and the less chance someone gets injured Is good. Jmoney got lucky I am not that drunk to make a post where I try to rip him and instead make it cryptic BS post This time. For the fans. I think you should always want to go if you get voted in.

And I imagine if someone just didn't go that was voted in with no excuse, it would be one of those Bring the Hammer down type of fines.

This is my point I think the NBA is not fond of LeBron because he always try to be bigger than them. Makes sense why the refs let him get murdered half the time. LBJ is trying to become the NBA in a sense. It is a weird issue but he will always be seen as someone who changes the game in a way. However yes the NBA has every right to fine him for not showing up under contract. However he sill has to play or suit up for the All-Star game. LeBron is one weird dude.

I don't get this "for the fans" bullshit. Why should fans care about watching a non-competitive glorified exhibition?
