LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LBJ's peak was 2009-2013, he is still the best player in the game, but I think in a two years that title will be passed to Anthony Davis. It's too bad the Pelican's have done a terrible job putting a team around him.

Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, and Asik isn't that bad actually.

I have no idea if his so called 'peak' is over but I do know the '07 version was enough to lift a rag tag team to the Finals. Bron will be fine and I expect this current team to also rise to the challenge. As for Davis, he and Asik (and Anderson) are a frontcourt monster tag team. Too bad their wing positions esp SF are such a mess. People get on Dion but he's a million times better than Tyreke Evans when it comes to buying into team play.

For most great players 30-32 is right in their peak. It was for Jordan, Olajuwon, Kobe, etc. The only ones who really declined at that age were ones with injury problems like Bird.

I think Blatt needs to not be shy about giving Marion minutes. Give bron a big break, leave dion/Kyrie/love plenty of time to get their rhythm and then let bron be the dominant closer while having guys who are hot and had enough touches surround him.

Game 2 looked better from a minute management perspective excluding overtime, but we cannot and should not be playing this guy over 35 minutes with a starting caliber small forward available as a backup who can play d and a supporting cast that makes buckets surrounding them.

To me lifting that team to 66 wins, tied for the tenth best regular season record ever, was maybe the greatest accomplishment of his career. The only other players on that team who were even solid NBA players were AV and Mo Williams. Other than that, all pretty much junk. (I love Z but his career was over by then, as was Shaqs). And of course the coach was junk too.

Not only did we win 66, a lot of those were blowouts. We were a great fire quarter team that year as we got off to big leads almost every game and didn't look back.

The thing is LeBron and Kyrie are most effective with the ball on the their hands. They play at their best with the ball on their hands, but one of them will have to make the sacrifice for the best interest of the team. The question is, whose impact does the team needs more? The answer is simple and easy, LeBron. The Cavs needs LeBron's all-around impact and efficiency more than what Kyrie brings to the table as a scoring PG, so in the long run, I wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie plays off the ball and LeBron runs the show like he did in Miami. The sooner the Cavs coaching staffs figures out that the team will be better off with LeBron running the offensive scheme, the quicker they'll reach the level they want to be on the offensive end.

I think it all depends on whether Blatt et. al. want to make his offense eventually work which would be recasting with goal buy in or if Blatt et. al. realize that it would be easier to put the ball in LBJ's ands and go at it sacrificing what you ideally want to do on offense for immediate impact.

Last year, James with 3-4 shooters on court resulted in some sick ORtg numbers. Could we create that here? We could, but I think Blatt first wants to install his offense and give it a chance. Both could be deadly, but one is a lot easier to install but will take a lot of buy in. Rift now, all is a mess so everyone looks a bit off. We haven't gotten many open three point looks out of the offense so far which I think would be immediately remedied if Blatt out the ball in James's hands, have him picks and/or spread the floor but I'm sure Blatt's not ready to give up on his offense. It was ugly to see us 3-15 with a few good looks off of running our offense and the Bulls 13-30!

Part of the problem is the back and being out of game shape. Another part is being uncomfortable in the offense. 9 assists in 80+ minutes is unheard of for James.

I can't remember any point outside of the first few minutes against the Knicks where the Cavs ran any of Blatt's offense.

Certainly agree with that-I had flashbacks to 2007 watching that offense. Gilbert could have saved himself some money and just kept Coach Brown. L'Iso obviously doesnt care who the coach is or what he is coaching.

Of course it is all Dion's fault anyway.

Since the pre-season started, there are moments when I'm watching the games. I see Lebron in a Cavs jersey and I literally laugh in disbelief. Does anyone else experience this?

I guess its just...being a Cleveland sports fan...we all know that blessings are few and far between. Even months after his announcement, and a few games into the season, I still don't think its sunk in...

I'm sorry this post doesn't really offer much material benefit. But its just nice to take a step back every once in a while, and take it all in.

Cheers

I think I said, or if not I was thinking about it, in one of the game threads that they could have kept Mike Brown to run this shit.
