Except that Jordan really had "flu like symptoms" and it was attributed to food poisoning. LeBron appears to have some kind of bug.
I hate that we’re only hearing about this now, and only from RJ.
Yea speculating that his mother screwed a teammate and that he's tanking on purpose sure seemed reasonable in the game thread. Why didn't people just SAY so. Sure could have saved a lot of grief and prevented a lot of speculation.
BTW: Does anyone know if there is a documented case of a team losing a playoff series because key players got the flu at a bad time?
I shudder at the thought that the Cavs might have been brought low by the Celtics + Influenza. Both are pathogens, I guess - especially that thing with the pony tail and the dead animal on his chin.
I don't think fan/media grief and speculation is high on the list of concerns for the Cavs.
I am not expecting a gigantic Game 5 for LeBron. He's sick plus we only get one day of rest and we have to travel.
Kyrie and Kevin have to be locked in and the entire team needs to be focused on closing this out.
The sooner we end this round, the better.
If anyone wonders why this information is only coming out now (LeBron sick), it's because the Cavs refuse to make excuses like the Warriors do and did ("Steph is still hurt"). They don't want to be seen as whiners and BS'ers.
Orrrr Lebron is forcing the Cavs to say that he is sick. If you destroy his legacy in any way, you are benched , fired or should be looking for a new starting Small Forward and Power Forward in the playoffs if he feels like it.
LeBron doesn't need to make things up. That's small-time.
This team doesn't do that. LeBron mentioned this at the parade last summer. Said Shumpert had a torn groin and some other issue and no one knew it because the Cavs don't publicly whine.
LeBron is past the point of needing to make any excuses for his career. He's already, at worst, a Top 6 career of all time and he's a Top 3/4 talent of all time.
Also, Jefferson is a truth teller. He's not someone who is going to lie for anybody. He's more a guy who will say things that are true that maybe he should not say.
James quite literally slowed down during the two home games in this series. James was the second-slowest player on the court for the Cavs on Tuesday, according to the league’s tracking data. He ran an average of 3.72 mph, and Kevin Love was at 3.75 and Richard Jefferson was 3.78. The only player slower? Kyle Korver at 3.68.
22. James was the slowest player on the court — by a lot — during the Game 3 loss. James ran an average of 3.63 mph during the loss Sunday after he was at 3.87 mph in Games 1 and 2. Something to monitor.
Well at least it isn't a food poisoning issue. That shit derailed Loves fabulous start to the season.
Scottie Pippen in 2011 when LeBron didn't have any rings:-
"Michael Jordan is probably the greatest scorer to play the game," Pippen said Friday on "Mike & Mike In The Morning" on ESPN Radio. "But I may go as far as to say LeBron James may be the greatest player to ever play the game because he is so potent offensively that not only can he score at will but he keeps everybody involved."
Scottie Pippen in 2017 after LeBron has 3 rings:-
"LeBron hasn't surpassed Kobe Bryant or Magic Johnson."
Either he rates Kobe and Magic over Jordan or the man has gone senile.
