LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Those trades had been in the pipe for weeks. Teams just wait until the deadline to make them happen for max value.

More likely Lebron was just savings energy to the deals went down.

I think a big reason LeBron is fine with playing four (outside of it being temporary and wanting to work guys in) is that he knows he's surrounded by defenders and guys who generally give a shit. Why is LeBron going to play four, when he has to help cover for Jae and IT being unable to stay in front of guys, and Love can't protect the rim. If you watched him, he basically protested helping because guys LITERALLY couldn't stay in front of their man. It's childish and unprofessional... but I kind of get where's he's coming from.

But now, he's got an elite PG defender in Hill, and a backup who has size and will try in Clarkson. He's got a guy in Cedi who will literally guard anybody, he doesn't care (unlike Crowder). He's got a re-engaged JR and a backup that has size and will try in Hood. And while Tristan and Nance aren't your prototypical rim defenders, they're both super active and, generally, play good position defense.

He also knows that he can switch with ANY of these guys, and not have to worry. I can't imagine the mental toll it takes on a guy like LeBron to have to keep track of his teammates deficiencies at all times, because that's just how his mind worked. When he was on the floor with IT, he knew IT couldn't switch on to anyone or he'd get killed. Jae couldnt switch on to quick guards. Wade, Rose, etc. They were very limited. Now? Defend your ass off, try and fight through screens, but if you have to switch, it's no longer a guaranteed bucket.

I don't know why LeBron wants so hard be nice to GSW bitches. They give a shit about him and he still wants to be nice to them, first Curry, now Green.

I don't really understand why lebron wouldn't want to play the 4 at all. Im 6'5 myself and i played the 3 mostly, i was super skinny when i was playing but pretty strong given my weight. I always loved to defend the 4 or even the 5 because its a lot less exhausting then chasing people around the perimeter. Given lebrons weight and strength I don't get it, probably different in the nba:chuckle:.

Maybe he prefers to be bigger than his matchup so he can bully them.

He may not have the same huge strength advantage against fours and it may tire him out more if he can't flat out over power them

4 and 5s just get beat the hell up. It is not easy to see fouls on them. guys are always pulling on your arms. Even Kevin is not happy at the 5 the way he was at the 4

Lebron always gets molested regardless of his position. If he drives or is on the break he just gets hacked. Basically the only way he is safe is by shooting jumpers. There were posts about this too how little calls he gets compared to the amount of times he drives.

He doesn't have to flat out overpower them, he can play outside on offense and take them off the dribble with his speed, he's being guarded by a 4. On defense he just has to hold his ground which I'm sure he's plenty capable of. And imo thats a lot less tiring then guarding a perimeter player.

Does he ever really play the 4 though...every game he spends a significant amount of time bringing the ball up the court... doesnt matter where his is named...his position is alway point g/f/c
