LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wonder if he will win player of the month.

Arguably the best passing forward of all-time coming off a double digit assist game and people still want to criticize LeBron for stopping the ball. I can't bring myself to complain about a guy holding onto the ball when it's usually ending with him at the foul line or finding shooters for open attempts.

The turnover number was high (7), but Milwaukee's length has been giving opposing ball handlers problems all year- they're second in the NBA in steals and force turnovers at the league's highest rate.

Please, if you look by the boxscore LeBron never has a bad game.

He was bad tonight, it happens. Thankfully we overcame it.

+17, 10 assists, 5 boards, got to the line 21 times (Milwaukee as a team went to the line 13 times), and hit 8 of 10 large free throws down the stretch.

But if you want to hone in on the turnovers and poor shooting percentage, that's fine.

The best passing forward off all time still doesn't look like himself out there. 20 games into the season I don't believe he is going to suddenly flip on a switch and gain back his athleticism from last year. Something clearly changed over the offseason. You have to ask yourself will we when a championship with Lebron playing at this level and the answer is hell no. His jump shots don't have near the lift they did last year, he never posts up, and his weight loss in affecting him on the defensive end against guys he would of had no trouble against. He misses bunnies at the rim that he would have finished last year with ease, and quite a few of them.

I'm not overreacting to one game, but what I have seen from him the entire season. I hope he looks different come playoff time

If that's what you expect from LeBron, that's fine, but he can do much better.

I'm not saying he was bad overall, he was bad by LEBRON JAMES standards.

Fortunately, he can coast through a game and still make great impact.

There's no way to judge LeBron's performance by just numbers (I bet his boxscore from the infamous game 5 doesnt look bad). By the eye test, we had multiple bad possessions in the halfcourt because he was holding the ball too long, and that doesn't show up in the boxscore.

I hate doing this but I think both sides have a point here. He was very sloppy with the ball and at least half of his turnovers seemed more of the unforced kind. He's transitioning to full time PG for this team and he's going to have a higher standard in terms of ball control then he's had to in the past.

That being said, I think you are also absolutely right that the Bucks had a very good game plan for him. Fouled him anytime he had a clear chance at a dunk and then did Dallas trick on defense (rim protector in the lane with the perimeter defenders crashing into the lane to close off space). To beat this you need to hit shots and other guys create: we eventually had Kyrie, Miller, and Love figure that out but the Bucks gameplan and execution was good.

It's still early, but you possibly have legitimate concerns. He's not playing up to his standards as far as valuing the ball is concerned and all the unforced turnovers off of bad passes attests to this. There's been just too any unnecessary high risk passes for no reason when you have such a talented offensive team.

One concern I had with him playing at SF and leaving the post was that his efficiency would go down and that his highly effective post game would go by the wayside.

Obviously, it's a new system and people are learning to play with one another which plays into the decreased efficiency, but there's also poorer shots, and of course, so many missed shots at the rim sans FTAs.

But most importantly, the athleticism. This team can get better in a lot of ways but cannot be a championship contender without James being at least close to the James we know athletically speaking. There's just too many holes and weaknesses for us to win a series against a great team without athletic James causing havoc. I don't think he could have lost all of that athleticism over a few months, so I'm hoping we're going to see a glimpse of it more often over the next few weeks.

This is all that needs to be said. Even "athletic" Lebron had subpar finals games. If this is the finished product we are going to see from him for the rest of his contract we won't win a championship regardless of the roster around him.

^^ 4 weeks into the season he's already won NBA player of the week twice. Even on these so called "bad games", he's the one controlling the flow of the game.

Lebron isn't playing bad, but he has CLEARLY lost a good deal of athleticism and it's not even arguable. Some of you have forgotten just how athletic this guy used to be.

I've yet to see him speed down the lane and dunk over someone.

But as long as he changes his game and gives the same level of production he has in recent years, I don't care.

For the love of God.

Make. It. Stop.

Got to love those Sacramento announcers: "Ben I told you are going to be a star in this league but not tonight" ROFL.
