LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The media/NBA got what they wanted by LeBron leaving again, but if they don’t make the playoffs next year, and in a convincing manner, then it will be an onslaught, maybe even the likes of which we have not seen during the LBJ CLE days.

Dream scenario for me next year is Cavs make playoffs and Lakers dont.

If this has been Cleveland instead of LA, I can't even imagine how much more the media would have piled on the organization.

Heck, we received way more criticism for our handling of LeBron even while going to four straight finals appearances than the Lakers have received during this complete disaster of a season.

Windy said today on The Jump that LeBron is even having a hard time recruiting players to be in the Space Jam 2 movie. It was pointed out that they don't want to go in the movie if the script has LeBron being the hero by dunking on them on the big screen.

There's multiple levels as to why this whole project is bad.

First off? You're not going to get a much needed Cleveland "Bounce" of it. The local hype for such a movie that would have been filmed partially in Akron, Cleveland and such would have probably gotten people into the project. Could have had a plot about 2014 perhaps...with Kyrie, Love and others joining up as part of the plot.

Now? Uh...no potential link back home.

Second? Looney Tunes is...in a down period right now as a cartoon series. I don't think children watch the shorts any more. It's not currently being aired on it's rights owners main channel if I can recall correctly (Cartoon Network). Compared to previous years..where I would see it on Nickelodeon, Kids WB, ABC's "One Saturday Morning" and the like. Hell the merchandise itself was EVERYWHERE.

There's not a strong "conection" save for people nostalgic for the original movie.

It's...just a lame duck movie at this point.

Another reason that Space Jam 2 is a horrible idea is that it just puts him in Jordan's shadow even more. Do you really need to do a sequel to a popular MJ hit, and from decades ago at that? Just seems too unoriginal and "try-hard".

Plus, Space Jam was made at a perfect crossroads in Jordan's career, after his ignominious baseball stint and his reclaiming of his basketball throne. It was quasi-autobiographical, and it debuted when he was in the midst of another historical 3-peat.

If LeBron was ever going to make Space Jam 2, it should have been rushed into production immediately following the '16 Finals. Making it now, at the lowest and most scrutinized period of his career, is just awful timing.

The only way this really works is if drops next summer after LeBron leads the Lakers to a title following a few miracles.

Should've tried to create something original with the House of Mouse instead of hitching to Space Jam 2.

Honestly still think he should've just retired after dragging us to the Finals and went the whole Jim Brown route.

I don't think any (sane) person was expecting Draymond sobbing on the phone begging for Durant to play for that shithead team in Oakland.

I think he would have gotten one more title here and then would have probably been looking to hang it up by this off season.

Then that would have been it.

Anyways..It's sad for him in some ways.

Flipside? Oddly not as sad for us. It is rather funny how the media kept thinking we'd be absolutely nowhere minus him.

While I have no idea how the lottery is going to turn out (I am assuming we don't get Zion until I see otherwise) at the very least? It feels like there's a potential for us to have a young, fun franchise going forward.

“LeBron is all in on next season.”

Fluff if I’ve ever seen it.

I can forsee waking up one day and seeing Kyrie signing with them for whatever god knows reason. Some crap like that.

I'd rather it not though because I like the idea of the Lakers being punked into being LeBron's retirement home.

Do you think that LeBron is irked by the fact that Kevin Love, as a #1 option, is enjoying as much post-season success as him?

I think Kyrie is weird enough to join up with LeBron and the Lakers but I think he will have alot of better options. Alot of teams would use assets to dump contracts for Kyrie. Philly would drop Tobias Harris or Butler for Kyrie.

JR's contract could be the piece that teams call for if they get word Kyrie wants to join their team.

Yeah but with the NBA you never really know.

I was leaning more towards Durant/Kyrie doing something over Kyrie coming back to LeBron to be honest.

I could very well see LeBron with some bullshit in the works.

Now whether it works out? I have no idea.
