LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Now that we're 3 games ahead of the Raptors/Bulls.

I wouldnt be upset if he took the night off tomorrow.

Kyrie has been unstoppable and hopefully Love will be fresh after getting a break.

Insane we are already 3 up...damn those other teams are total pretenders

No foot off the gas. It takes one Cleveland loss and one Chicago/Toronto win and they are back to one game behind--leaving us little room for error.

I've never agreed with other Cavs fans on this. There's really no point in fighting it, most believe their suspicions were confirmed when Dan Gilbert came out and called LeBron a quitter in the Letter.

I just can't believe a guy that, despite quitting on the team, managed to hold Paul Pierce to 13.5 points on 35% shooting that series. It's not his fault Rajon Rondo put Mo Williams on a skewer and repeatedly barbequed him multiple games. While Mo's three-point shot was leaving him (21% from deep) Rondo averaged 21/12/6 while shooting 54% from the field that series... yet the narrative is still LeBron James quit on us.

I've just never understood it. LeBron's 38/8/7 in Game 3 was one of the best playoff performances by a Cavalier in franchise history, and it came in a 29-point beatdown in the Garden. The worst home playoff loss the Celtics ever had.. yet it's conveniently been forgotten about by the majority of Cavs' fans.

If we want to scapegoat a player let's blame Mo Williams or Antawn Jamison for disappearing and leaving a washed up 37-year-old Shaquille O'Neal as the team's second leading scorer. That's never going to happen though, because despite his return there's always going to be a pocket of Cleveland fans that just despise LeBron James. Anyone remember those "Fuck LeBron James" posts from earlier this season that got 10+ likes? Fucking ridiculous.
Spot on my friend

I think he gave it his all against the Celtics that series.

That is, except for Game 5. I can't reasonably believe that was Lebron James giving 100%. I mean he only attempted 4 field goal attempts in the first half (0 for 4) and throughout the game there were times when he didn't even attempt to get involved in the offense and ended up just drifting around the perimeter. He also made a ton of lazy passes. Whether you want to call it Lebron "quitting" or Lebron being passive is up for debate. However, that's the only game I will give Lebron any blame for because he did play disinterested compared to the other games in that series.

I don't know how this became a discussion though lol.

James fouled Orlando's Dewayne Dedmon while trying to block the Magic forward's shot with 8:13 remaining in the third quarter and landed awkwardly on the floor, getting his right leg caught underneath him.

EDIT- Lloyd calls it a "twist"- which seems more accurate:
13. LeBron twisted his knee tonight going up for a block in the third quarter and seems at least questionable to play Monday in his second trip to Miami. I’d be surprised if he didn’t play, given how well he looked upon returning in the fourth, but James seemed to leave open the possibility he could miss the game.

Can someone get some video of that in here? As usual, the media is just parroting the first thing that was said, calling it a "tweak"...well, he bent it backwards weird with all his weight on it. Could be pretty darn important.

I would sit him for a few days. That fall could have been so much worse if he wasn't a freak of nature. He did look great the rest of the way, except for one play I noticed that he didn't want to land on his right leg when he went to the lane and passed the ball to the left wing.

That's not good, it then puts the left leg in jeopardy. That said, I didn't notice him do that again the rest of the game. One regular season game is not worth losing the best player in the world.

To me, there's not even a question of getting an MRI- even if he did play on it OK afterwards. Not with a franchise player. If Dan Gilbert doesn't have a mobile MRI unit at the Q, he's just being naive.

I've been !&@ed twice by it- partial tear from weightlifting, waited a few weeks to where I thought it was OK, than re-tore it playing ultimate. The other time I got clipped from the side playing basketball- I woke up the next morning and the knee was frozen at a 40 degree angle.

The point is I thought I was OK enough to play, but was not.

Yes absolutely get an MRI. I would say that for any player on our team. Him being LeBron is just a reason to be extra cautious. We can win a title without Mike Miller, but without LeBron we are lucky to make the second round imo.

While it's still warm, it's good to go, that's why he played the rest of the game.

But it possibly has swollen a bit. He definitely should rest.

I still get a chuckle out of fans saying a guy who put up 27/19/10 quit.

Quite amazing really.

Just another case of stats not telling the whole story. Even a casual fan could have told you he was dogging it out there.

Whatever, it's a moot point. Water under the bridge now.

LBJ should be resting tonight. Hopefully it's a minor injury and one that does not linger.

Love will be back. We can beat the Heat without Lebron. Let him rest.

The way I see it, we should let him have off today and then our next game against Brooklyn. After that, he shouldn't play against Philly on the 29th and then as soon as we essentially secure the 2nd seed, we should let him rest for the final 3/4 games of the year after that.

Honestly, this game means little to nothing to us. We're 3 games clear of Toronto and Chicago.

We hold the tie breaker over the Raptors and have the final Chicago game at home to clinch the H2H tiebreaker, so it could be 4 games clear of both if we just beat Chicago in April.

Just rest whoever needs to heal up and worry about the game on Wednesday.

If I were Blatt, I would honestly just rest the big 3 tonight. Flush a game and get ready for the stretch run.
