LeBron has never been a natural jumpshooter. His shot has always been flat. He had more success with it when he was younger because of 2 reasons:
- his elevation when shooting was much higher then. He can't elevate all the time now. Elevation was fundamental to his shot, because of the flatness. Look at Shump, he's not a natural jumpshooter either and he has to elevate a lot for precision.
- he was much thinner before. It helps the mechanics. His build up now is completely different, and muscular guys almost always struggle shooting.
So I don't see him shooting well for the next few years. He'll have to lose muscle if he wants to improve it, but he'll lose ability to post up. It's a 2 way sword.
