Oh BTW….

Atlanta couldn’t beat crappy Portland missing Dame and CJ. Dallas did beat Denver. 56/14 in a losing effort, you hate to see it. Luka’s mom is still hot.

Hey I kill dudes for hallow numbers all the time….

56/14 on only 26 shots ? I’m giving Lord Trae a pass in this one… That’s one of the most efficient games I’ve seen from a player of this generation….

Trae has gotten a lot better. Luka is stuck as almost a finished product.

Sort of a Kyrie like progression. We used to say about Kyrie, "wow he is only 19! How much better can he get" the answer was marginally.

I'm not sure Doncic is honest with himself about how he needs to improve. Maybe because he was so polished as a kid it obscured the fact he didn't have a much more headroom?

With Mobley it is easy to imagine he gets better in a lot of different areas.

Doncic is already a top tier passer. Is his shot going to improve a lot? Is he going to get more athletic? There just isn't anything raw about his skills.

Rubio was like that too. People thought he had tons of upside because he was so young, but he was closer to fully developed than raw talent.

Tough to predict

I really like this take. I always felt Kyrie was a top 5 skilled teenager in NBA history. But as you said, skill improvement is typically where production can be most improved. Luka’s approach and body needs to change for him to improve.

For the amount he shoots, Doncic’s %’s are pretty weak. Relatively inefficient from three and Lebron- like FT shooter.

One of my favorites though.

Yeah that is sort of my point. You expect those to go up for rookie, but his are pretty flat. Fouls and turnovers are up since his rookie year.

He's a great player, but his improvement in his 2nd and 3rd year were almost completely predicated on increasing his free throw rate.

I think you would be hard pressed to find someone who has improved as little as Doncic has from that draft except for guys that don't belong in the NBA.

Bagley probably.

Yeah he’s kinda plateaued into that slow methodical Paul Pierce style…. Except he’s step back 3’s instead of getting to his midrange spot….

Doncic will be a nice 2nd option on a championship caliber team in Cleveland with Mobley down the road…. But for now he’s just outta shape and not improving…

He really doesn't have to get any better to be really good. The problem is that he is good enough that he's cemented his team to the treadmill. Maybe we can trade Allen and Picks for him when it is clear he is leaving and Mobley is ready to play center.

Luka is fat, but I want him to pile on even more pounds. I like watching fat, slow NBA players who can still hack it against NBA hyper-athletes, against all odds. It's very entertaining, and so rare these days.

When you add Luka's whiny personality and "hungover plumber" type looks, it's like a perfect storm.
