Mark Price

Mark Price is a leading candidate for the Head Coach spot with the newest NBL franchise here in Australia, the South Dragons. He along with some other lesser known candidates are in the running. Obviously Price is the guy they want.

Re: Mark Price

Mark Price here in Australia???

Extremely unlikely.

But man oh man if he was........

Re: Mark Price

I dont see Price doing it. He is a family man and he hates to travel a lot. Going all the way out there makes no sense.

As well as Karma, I'm Aussie, so I'll answer your questions too.

1) I was always aware of things in Cleveland, Mark Price, Brad Daugherty, Hot Rod, Ron Harper, etc, then I saw Game 1 of the 1st Round against Indiana in 1998, with a SL of Ilgauskas/Kemp/Henderson/Anderson/Knight, and I became a fan. Of coarse like every basketball fan, I was/am a huge fan of Michael Jordan, even when he played for the Wizards.

2) Basketball is very popular in Australia, it's being played in schools all over the county, and there are 100,000's playing basketball at competition, if not millions. Basketball at the highest competition almost ended in South Australia, with the Basketball Association of South Australia (BASA), now known as Basketball South Australia (BSA) almost folding due to financial troubles, and that league almost came to an end as almost did it's 2 professional basketball teams, the Adelaide 36ers (NBL) and the Adelaide Fella's (WNBL), due to the fact that BSA own the Sixers and Fella's.

Well that just threw your credibility out the window in your Sasha > Luke arguments... :chuckles: ;)

Something about this was posted not that long ago..

I find it odd that he would go all the way down there to coach when Im sure he could get an asst. coaching gig in the US at the college or NBA ranks and work his way up that way.

he was an assistant coach for at least 1 year with Georgia Tech before he got a job at FSN.

I'm shocked at this as well. When I first saw that he was one of the guys the Dragons wanted, I was like, "No way they'll get him to coach" but it seems like it's getting pretty close to being a done deal.
