I didn't expect that the deaths of characters with only a few minutes of screen-time could be so emotionally devastating. I know it wasn't just me; at least 25% of the theater was openly sobbing. Lylla's last words and death, followed by Rocket's howl of anguish, coupled with Floor's panic attack and desperate rising screams of "Rocket, Teefs, Floor go now!" over and over... and the absolute silence after she and Teef are killed in the crossfire. I think it is by far the saddest scene in the entire MCU.
Yeah, Yandu, Tony's, and Natasha's deaths were all sad, but they knowingly sacrificed themselves for the greater good (and we knew Gamora was coming back in some fashion), there is something worse and completely gut-wrenching about the senseless murder of completely innocent, gentle beings by an irredeemable psychopath. Bradley Cooper's voice acting was sublime. That raging howl was eviscerating. It's been 12 hours since I saw it and I am still emotional about it. I think it triggered some things non-related to anthropomorphic MCU characters, with so many lost friends and pets over the past decade. "Hurts."
