Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This kid makes up for a lot of his liabilities with pure hustle. I love that out of him. He played really well last night.

If Karasev cracks the rotation and we draft Dougie McBuckets, we are looking at the whitest bench since the mid-1990s Bucks. That Bucks team was like a blizzard with Kristowiak, Lohaus, Jon Barry, Frank Brickowski and the boys...

Be doin them dirty... David Kahn style !!!!

Just an interesting side note on Delly.
Anyone who watched his college career at St Marys would most likely agree that both his passing and ability to run the offense was the strongest parts to his game. When he first made the transition to the NBA, I think he struggled with his passing due to the extra athleticism off the players. I think he began to play more conservatively to adjust to this.
Since he has been getting these minutes and spending some time at the point his passing has really improved and I can see him running the offense ate times like at college. This is really positive.
The stat that sticks out to me is his assist/TO ratio of 3.16. This would put him equal 6th in the NBA (note that he does not quite qualify for the official list as he only has 174 assists and it is a 200 minimum, which he would surely have smashed if he did not get benched for that month or so).
I think Delly can really help Kyrie and Dion be the players to match their talent . His influence on Dion is obvious, but I would like to see Kyrie take a step back next year and maybe let Delly and JJ run the offense at times. This will both offer us more variety in offense, give our key guys a break to work off the ball and teach Kyrie and Dion how to more effectively run the offense for the future.

it's very easy to focus on athletic elements of a game, however Delly and fellow Australian Patty mills share another attribute in that they are learders on and off the court, helping to bring team cohesion and this should not be underestimated. You can see this mentioned here:

Is it true Delly is a free agent? Is he going to leave us ?

The Cavs signed him through 2014-2015. His salary is not guaranteed next year, but the Cavs control his rights for the year.

It would be hilarious if he demanded a trade this summer. He has every right to do so too, with how his teammates have frequently failed to match his level of effort on the court.

Ya, I don't know if he fits with the culture of this team. He is too good of a guy, but the dude should be so pissed that his team mates have folded like a cheap suit.

out today so missed the game. The replays on nba website do not look goo. After previous efforts I though the Cavs would compete in this game...so how did delly play?

One of only a handful who was trying. Literally the only one who was vocal on defense and you could tell he was getting frustrated with the lack of effort from some of his team mates. Worked hard off the ball on offense, shot the ball ok. Through some nice passes inside - his assists should have been higher but guys were fouled a few times and missed some shots. Got done for a travel and threw a loose pass.
Did maybe his best drive of the year for a nice lay-up which was encouraging.

Someone explain to me where this horrible Gold Chains nickname came from.

Im sure it has nothing to do with his 2 fiba gold medals.
