Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In the next Olympic cycle: Australia may be very tough.
Patty Mills, Delly, Exum, Ben Simmons could be lethal on the wings.

i need to count how many olympian or former olympains the Cavs have right now

Kyrie Irving (likely playing in the Olympics)

Lebron 3 Olympics?

TT (is he on the Canadian team)?
Wiggins (technically) Canada.
Bennett. Guessing is on Canada?

Varejao (Played for Brazilian National team, don't remember Olympics)

Marion (2004 selection for USA?)

?Ray Allen? 2000? More? At least yes to 2000 gold.

Delly Australia

Blatt- Russia.

?Love? 2012

Yeah pretty cool

Love was definitely on the 2012 Olympic team. He was one of the best five players on that squad based on his performance there.

Yeah I put him as a question mark as he isn't exactly on the team. Was Andy ever? I only remember the FIBA controversy/foul.

I don't think he's been on their Olympic team. He probably would have been in 2012 but he may have sat out due to injury.

I will be very disappointed if we don't see a USA vs Australia matchup at some point during the World Cup.

I really want to see Kyrie vs Delly even if only for a few minutes. :)

Andy played in 2012, and was pretty good. Heck, Kyrie should be playing for Australia. He'd have good practice with Delly.

Dont forget Andrew Bogut.

Infact next Olympics the Aussies will look like this

Mills (Spurs)
Delly (Cavs)
Exum (Jazz)
Simmons (Lottery)
Maker (Lottery)

Baynes (Spurs)
Bogut (Warriors)
Bairstow (Bulls)
Jawai (Former T'Wolf, Raptor)
Ingles (Word is he signing with the Grizzlies this offseason)

Wont beat Team USA, but they could be the new Spain

The Delly/Exum/Mills guard combo is really interesting, Mills is more a small 2, which works well with Either Delly or Exum as Exum seems in the early stages better playing the 1 than 2. But Delly and or Exum can both guard the 2.

Problem with Bogut is by the time Exum and Simmons will be real threats will likely be the next Olympic cycle in 5 years. Doubt Bogut has much left in the tank by then

That's a good point, may still be a Wiley old vet off the bench though.

'wily old vet' implies IQ...never really considered this a strength of Bogut.
Delly doing well at the worlds - solid. effecient play

Here's part of a poorly translated interview I found from Sep. 3rd.

Solid (7 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 assists) in the win against Mexico (70-62), the leader of Boomers Matthew Dellavedova helped Australia validate his third win of the competition. For Basketball News, Player of the Cleveland Cavaliers returned to the meeting and talk about the world of his team.

Matthew Dellavedova, Australia continues with a third win and headed straight to the next round ...

"We are really happy with us and today's victory. Everyone played well and we managed to control the inclinations of Mexicans throughout the game."

Somehow, I don't think this is what Delly was actually trying to say...

Wait, what? It was being translated from English.. To English? Lol. I'm assuming it was translated into Spanish and then back to English again? Or maybe they simply couldn't understand his thick Aussie accent :chuckle:
