Metta World Peace Elbows James Harden in the Head

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Maybe I'm watching different highlights or something. I saw Harden slide over into Artest with his arms up, knowing he was going to get ran into and I see Artest wildly swing his arm and hit his head. I'm not arguing that he didn't mean to hit him, but I highly doubt he was trying to kill him with a vicious shot to the temple.

That should be enough right there. He wound up his arm, closed his eyes, and swung his elbow full force at head level. If he didn't know that would hit Harden in the head, then he's even dumber than I originally thought.

That bullshit about him not seeing Harden, is just that(bullshit). He and Harden bumped into each other, THEN he winds up and swings the elbow. You mean to tell me he didn't know someone was next to him after he just bumped into the guy?

It's not like this is Artests first rodeo either. I could see giving him a pass if he didn't have a history of being bat shit crazy, but we all know different.

This is just after they bump into each other. You would think his arm might rebound a bit off Hardens head, but it looks like he's driving his arm through the contact.

EDIT 2:

All these gifs miss the part where Harden goes from right to left to run into Artest, though. If he doesn't do that, this doesn't even happen.

Hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure Harden wouldn't have been anywhere around Artest had he known he was going to catch an elbow to the dome.

I guess Trayvon Martin shouldn't have went out for skittles and ice tea that night either. If he doesn't to that, he'd still be alive.

Amirite?

I don't understand where you are coming from on this. I really don't. Mr Artest assaulted Mr Harden on the basketball court. If this had occurred almost anywhere else, he'd have spent the night in jail. He struck Mr Harden with malice aforethought as he swung high at head level. He could only have struck that part of the body with where he aimed. He clearly knew he was there. He did it deliberately. There was no excuse for his actions. You don't blame the victim because he was there.

Here are some simple questions...

Did Mr Harden do anything that was a rules violation in the game of basketball with his actions? No.
Did Mr Harden do anything to attempt to harm Mr Artest? No.
Did Mr Harden do anything that could be considered a criminal act? No.

The NBA thinks what he did was wrong. All of the posters in this thread except you thinks what he did was wrong. I have to wonder if you are a closet Lakers fan. They are the only ones who feel compelled to argue in favor of his malicious actions. In fact, in the ESPN poll, only the state of California thought the 7 game suspension was adequate. The majority of fans in the rest of the states felt it was too lenient.
