Bulls Fan in Chicago:
The bulls need a shooter. Anyway they can get Michael Redd from Milwaukee. Maybe for Hinrich and a filler plus a 1st round pick? Can that get it done? Roses are Redd you know.
Bill Ingram:
Ouch! Roses are Redd . . .I think if things go South in Milwaukee Redd will begin to lobby for a trade. I've heard him associated with the Cavs in trade rumors, and that makes a lot of sense. I think the Bulls are more in need of a center, but Redd certainly makes any team he's on better. He needs to be rescued from Milwaukee.

luis in berlin:
you heard rumors about redd to the cavs? the mo williams/mike redd backcourt didn't work in milwaukee so do you really think it would work in cleveland especially when you consider they are a defense first team?
Bill Ingram:
That was before Mo was dealt to Cleveland. But yes, I think with LBJ they could be amazing together.

Bill Ingram mentions he heard rumors of Redd to Cleveland if the bucks go down hill which is highly likely.

I know that we all talk about how a backcourt of redd and mo didnt work in millwakee but theres a lot of factors that have to do with that. They never really had a defensive minded coach such as mike brown, there team was never really good to begin with, and for them to stay in games they were looked at to be offensive players and not defensive players. Redd proved that while he was with U.S.A bball he can be a solid defender not great but good enough ala ray allen. Mo has shown some nice defensive pressure but still needs work but i wouldnt trust anyone other than Mike Brown to teach both players how to defend.

Now i have my pros and cons about Michael Redd but he still fits a major need our team has desperately needed. He is still one of the best in game 3 point shooters, he still is Silky Smooth in his all round game and he has proven he can take over games when ever needed too. Compare him to Ray Allen. He's been a great shooter his whole career but never won anything of significance until on a really good team.

Im just starting to think Redd is still by far the best option we can get and could possibly be that missing piece to us winning it all this year.

Not backing it. I think there are better, more durable options out there.

i love the idea no doubt

lol i'm the guy who asks the question about michael redd....i'm not sure about him mainly because of his defense

Man I just get tired of arguing the same points with the same people that still want Redd. I'd take him as a last resort because I would want to try another backcourt duo but some people want us to become the Bucks +LBJ. He is one hell of a last resort and if he is the best available then by all means get him if there is something better than definately take that over Redd.

Why do people keep saying they don't trust his defense?? Didn't Mo Williams come from the SAME team?? But the only difference.. Mo doesn't have the IQ that Redd STILL has defensively. Yet the media here in Cleveland, and even Mo himself believe defense is something he wasn't bad at.. Yet Redd is looked at as some bad defender.

Its laughable.. I know everybody knows it, but he was known for his defense coming out of college.. And still has that same IQ inside of him. And with Brown, he'd only become better.

Give me Redd, I'll take him as this teams starting shooting guard over Wally.. Vince Carter, etc. Who are the other options you people have? I don't want to hear about Joe Johnson.. Or Jason Richardson(Because I honestly doubt Charlotte gives up on in him, he has been their best scorer, and he is still young). So who is out there??

One problem people have with Redd's defense is that he lacks lateral quickness. He's really bulked up, and it seems like the quicker shooting guards in the East, like Dwyane Wade, AI, or Andre Iguodala would score on him at will. Also, his shooting percentage and three point percentage both took a dip last year. For someone who you'd only bring in for offense, he sure could cost a lot, financially, defensively, and chemistry-wise. I wouldn't be opposed to him coming here for the right price, but Danny better do his homework first.

Another glaring issue with Redd is that last year, his team only was .8 points per 48 minutes worse with him off the court, and his backup is Charlie Bell. Now I'm not saying we should not get Redd because of this, but I'm just saying it's another warning sign.

How's Redd's ankle? Is he out long?

We discuss the how ideal Redd would be here or what he lacks and all that, but come on...a Wally for Redd (or a Wally/Pavs for Redd/Gadz) trade is a no brainer. It terms of talent, it just makes us so much better. What does Wally bring that Redd doesn't? It terms of character, he is also a perfect fit here.

To get Redd at such a bargain price...you just have to pull that trigger.

Not in the Redd camp at all. Dont see how Redd is nothing more than putting Wally at sg type experiment. He scores because he is the focal point of the offense. Wally was an all star in a simular role. They both can shoot, both are slow, neither can defend. Difference is Wally atleas tries to defend. Atleast with Vince Carter you get defense and quickness. Ofcourse he could come with a bad attitude, but I will leave that up to our front office who actually gets a chance to speak to these players.

Redd is faster than Wally. Redd has more facets to his game that Wally. Redd is going to do whatever is asked of him. Redd can shoot the ball better than Wally.

With Vince you get someone who may not be willing to do anything but launch outside jumpers. His quickness is greatly diminished and his defense has never been that good.

Just curious... like who?

Stephen Jackson.

Golden State are a mess right now, and Monta Ellis won't save them from being a lottery team, when he returns from injury/suspension.

Jackson is their oldest player, and he's owned $14 millions. I don't see how he shouldn't be attainable, and his contract expires after the 09/10 season which is perfect!

What about?
CLE recieves:
Stephen Jackson
Ronny Turiaf

GS recieves:
Wally
and a maybe a pick?

or

CLE recieves
Stephen Jackson

GS recieves
Eric Snow's contract
and a pick
