Not such good news for last years 2nd rounder, Dillon Howard.

Made his professional debut tonight, allowing 6R/4ER on 4H with 2BB and 1K in just 3.0 innings.

TJ House went up against one of the top prospects in baseball tonight in Zack Wheeler, earning the win.

7-inning complete game 2-hit shutout for House.

7-2, 2.61 ERA in 14 starts between A/AA this year. Doesn't turn 23 until September.

That's extremely encouraging. If House does pan out, he'd fit in perfectly as the 3 starter.

At least he pitched. Kept hearing he was hurt.

Got a long way to go IMO, end of next year at the earliest would probably be his timetable.

The walks are a bit discouraging, hopefully he keeps improving because he's had a really good year to this point.

Jesus Aguilar and Francisco Lindor will be in the futures game.

Trevor Crowe is back playing for Columbus as of last Tuesday (Cunningham replacement?). Tim Fedroff was promoted to Columbus and has been hitting the cover off the ball in Akron and Columbus. He has hit the ball everywhere he has been in minors and always has a good SO to walk ratio. Hopefully he can keep it up.

Minor deal yesterday:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>In case you missed it yesterday...the <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523Indians">#Indians</a> traded former top pick 1B Beau Mills to the <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%2523Reds">#Reds</a> for cash. He was optioned to Double-A.</p>&mdash; Nick Camino (@CaminoTribe) <a href="https://twitter.com/CaminoTribe/status/216187082715045889" data-datetime="2012-06-22T15:13:11+00:00">June 22, 2012</a></blockquote><script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Mills was hitting .197 with 7 HR, 21 RBI, and a 7/34 BB/K ratio at Columbus.

Fedroff is a 4th OF in the MLB, if that.

I would complain about the Mills draft pick, but it still makes sense.

And most of the great players from that year were already off the board (Price, Weiters, bumgarner, Parker)

I know Jason Heyward was taken one pick later...but that was a pretty special case.

At the Aeros game today... Nick Weglarz looks night and day since his 40-man removal. Crushed another HR in the first and ripped a single in the 3rd. Both off of a lefty. Health will always be an issue for him, but the talent still looks like it is there. Stephen Wright, former supplemental pick, has reinvented himself as a knuckleballer. Never seen a knuckleballer live before- kind of funny to watch. Lots of bad swings and it has to be hell to catch. Other than that, not much to see so far.

Russ Canzler, Matt LaPorta, and Cord Phelps were named IL All-Stars. Hopefully Canzler or LaPorta won't be able to attend due to playing LF for the Tribe.

If they play at the same time they may be add up to put up league-average numbers.
