Trade1 - Yes

Trade2 - Yes, as long as the 2009 pick is lotto protected.

He started in seattle cough... OKC, he could retire there and move into the coaching staff. Anyone that trades for snow now will probably want him to join the coaching staff, he has been garnering attention as a possible head coach for a few years now.

Yes, but he's also a huge contract and has a lot of downside. He could be a cancer.

Wally could at least be of some use in free agency soon.

But he's better than sczerbiak

No wonder your avatar is a acorn

Your nuts!

Your nuts!

I think I'd rather cap space to go after someone who could benefit us for years, not diminish and remove any chances in free agency.

I'm not nuts (although nice comment), I'm just looking at both sides of the story. Most people shooting for Vince just see his name.

Yes, but he's also a huge contract

So?

and has a lot of downside.

Downside? With the way he's producing?

He could be a cancer.

how?

Wally could at least be of some use in free agency soon.

Yeah, okay... Explain that one to me...

I think I'd rather cap space to go after someone who could benefit us for years, not diminish and remove any chances in free agency.

A). How does Wally help us go after someone who can benefit us for years?

B). How does VC, diminish that?

Most people shooting for Vince just see his name.

Right...

So?

Downside? With the way he's producing?

how?

Yeah, okay... Explain that one to me...

A). How does Wally help us go after someone who can benefit us for years?

B). How does VC, diminish that?

Right...

Wohoo someone agreed with me :spin:

Vince is and always will be better than Szcerbiak

So?

It will take away any chances at cap space in 2010 and he probably won't be worth the money, I don't think we need more players like that.

Downside? With the way he's producing?

He's 31 years old and he'd be joining a team with a terrible offensive system as the second option.

how?

Because he'd be another huge contract with too many years on it that doesn't live up to their paycheck.

Yeah, okay... Explain that one to me...

Wally is an expiring contract, his money off the books would give us a chance to go after a big name. That's 12 million off the books, why do you think he's an important trading piece?

A). How does Wally help us go after someone who can benefit us for years?

Wally doesn't, his contract does.

B). How does VC, diminish that?

His contract lasts longer.

Right...

Not all, I'd love for Vince Carter to come here and turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread on this team, but it's harder to imagine for me then it is for you.

Also, Vince will always be better than Wally, it's just that he may not be worth the contract we're losing when we could go after a younger All-Star.

It will take away any chances at cap space in 2010

It's way to far out to tell if he'd ruin it...

But, we only have two players under contract after the 2010 off-season... It'd be 3 if VC was on the team and our total salary would be around $22 million...

and he probably won't be worth the money, I don't think we need more players like that.[/B]

How do you know he won't be worth the money?

He's 31 years old and he'd be joining a team with a terrible offensive system as the second option.

Who cares about the offensive system... What we need is players who have the scoring ability to make our offense that much better...

If you're worried that much about the offensive system, you should want a guy like VC because he'd mask how bad it is...

Because he'd be another huge contract with too many years on it that doesn't live up to their paycheck.

How is putting up numbers like 21, 5, 6, 46% FG%, 36 3PT%, 82 FT%, not worth the money?

His contract lasts longer.

It doesn't matter!

Also, Vince will always be better than Wally, it's just that he may not be worth the contract we're losing when we could go after a younger All-Star.[/B]

Even if we get VC, we still can...
