Moved to Lakewood

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, do note that Lakewood is probably the most racist part of the city. Its full of young people of Irish descent who love to start fights. So if you get into a tiff with some dude and he just leaves, that doesn't mean it's over- he is probably waiting in the parking lot with his bros. Have fun!

In high school, the few times I went there to drink each time someone tried to start a fight with my friends or me. I've really hated the place ever since, I do believe though that more hipsters populated the area with joints like "12bitbar" opening up. So that might've calmed the suburban middle-class white angst a bit.

I've been living downtown for the past 2 years, absolutely love it. Got some chill places like the Maproom, Portside Distillery / Brewery, Winks, Flanneries.

Bolded Portside because it's still relatively new, amazing beer selection (all brewed there), and cool location. Owners are cool as hell too, if you haven't stopped in there yet I highly suggest it.

Anyway, the true reason I wanted to post in here is because my Fiance wants to get the hell out of Downtown- for multiple reasons; one being that she gets harassed by ghetto african-american dudes everywhere she goes (sorry to be so blunt, but it's true). So we are considering moving into Lakewood. I'm not fond of the idea but I have to roll with it because she cooks and does my laundry.

How can you be so insensitive? The term is "Afro-Americans." Get it right or get the hell out, asshole!

Why are you opposed to Lakewood? It's literally 10 minutes downtown, it's clean, beautiful houses near the lake, it's much cheaper and a ton of food options.

There are "hood" areas in Lakewood too. But overall, it's a nice place to live. It's far easier to maneuver than downtown.

*chuckles* because she cooks and does your laundry. @Lyst

So, I just moved to Edgewater.

Anytime i go back to Cleveland, i always make a stop at Hooples. Best bar to watch ANY Cleveland sports and have a cold one.

I had Hungry Howie's Saturday night. Loved every bite.

I can't eat that fast food level national chain stuff anymore (Hungry Howie's, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Dominos, etc) with all the good local pizza joints we have around here. Romeo's and Gionino's are good local chains, Luigi's in Akron is really good too.

I'm really passionate about pizza, apparently, as I wanted to write 6 paragraphs on the subject but decided to just cut it short, lol.

  • PEPPERS ITALIAN RESTAURANT
Yesss!

It's better than Angelos, hands down. I'm Italian and have visited over a thousand Italian restaurants in my day.
Never do I order a pizza with extra sauce to dunk in. Once you try their sauce, you just can't get enough.

If you go on the weekends they have a fantastic creamy red tortellini soup that's incredible!
Seriously go to Peppers, order takeout. Have some extra napkins on deck to wipe up your excitement.
Ate there last night. It was pretty legit and will most definitely be going back. Service wasn't the greatest though. Had to eat my meal without a drink.

Damn that sucks, yeah it depends what night you go. The little waitress chicks are so busy they would forget something like that, at the same token the place isn't all that big. The one major downside is how cramped/crowded it feels inside. Weekends around dinner, forget about even going, call for takeout. If you are going around dinnertime or after on a Monday-Thursday it shouldn't be as crowded.

The secret to their tastiness is how many fucking pizza pies have come from the pans they use. Those pans are so well seasoned.... if the place ever went out of business I'd pay an exorbitant amount of money to score one of their pizza pans.

Reverse engineering their sauce recipe is another story. Some of if not my favorite standard red sauce I have ever had.

Glad you liked it. Try it again when it's less crowded.

I tried making a reservation for this past Friday - no dice. They don't take them.

Tried winging it around 6:30 - no fucking chance. You couldn't even fit anybody else through the door so we left.

Don't give up on the pursuit, it will pay off. Everyone talks big game about Angelos, and their stuff is good....

Peppers is another level. Try it at a non-descript random ass time and you will be rewarded with awesome italian food, I wouldn't steer you wrong.

Haha I have had it on a few occasions and I love it. The food is great, the wait is not.

That said, I also have a weird ass third cousin that hosts there and it's painfully awkward running into her.
