Hey everyone.
I hope you all are doing well. I have been missing in action lately, but for good reason. My wedding is nearly here, and a good portion of the last few months in my life has been dedicated to planning it all.
I am getting married this Sunday, August 21st to my beautiful fiance, Jillian. We share a love for sports, and felt it would only be fitting to host a Cavaliers themed wedding.
Through thick and thin we support the team and the City of Cleveland. After the departure of you know who, the difficult season last year and the current lockout, we have never once thought of scratching the idea of a Cavs themed wedding. We stuck with our original ideas, and are happy to see everything coming to fruition.
Since I feel a strong connection to this website and the members here, I wanted to share some of the wedding blueprint with you all.
Sorry for the poor image quality:
- Here is an example of our wedding invitations. The inspiration was to have something along the lines of a game ticket, but with elegance. The idea was for guests to cut off the bottom portion, and use that as the RSVP. The remainder, they would keep, like a ticket stub. The design was completed by graphic designer Mike Brenkus. He is a huge Cleveland Cavs fan as well, and I met him though the original Cavs.com message forum and CavFanatic forums years ago. Great person.

- My tux & the groomsmen tux. What better colors than wine and gold?
****************************************************
- Here is an example of our table escort cards. Notice we have our own "Cavs logo" in the corner with our initials. We are not using table numbers for the reception. Every table is named after a current or past Cavs player.
*************************
- The guestbook. Nothing special, but keeping with the theme. Next to the book, we are going to have an autograph case with a basketball inside of it. We'll ask our guests to autograph the case in permanent marker as well.

- Me & the bride. I'm still playing around with different images, but I'll likely enlarged this photo, have it framed and placed in the reception area.
**************************
- 7 out of the 14 center pieces will have this design on the table. The rim & ball will be supported by a 36" clear vase. The florist is putting blue orchids, water and some cool looking stone things inside the vase. The alternating tables will have a more simple floral or candle type of centerpiece.
My fiance made the rims from a bunch of stuff she bought at Pat Catan's. We bought basketballs & nets from the store Five Below.
**************************
- Again, no tables at the reception will be numbered. Instead, we will have the name & photo of a current or past Cavs player. Here is an example of some of the photo/frames for tables.

- This is our gift/card box. My fiance worked hours upon hours getting this thing looking the way she wanted it to. I think it is pretty damn awesome.

- Cotton candy for the favors.
-------------------------------------------------
I'm working on some other things too that I'll be able to share with you guys upon completion.
I am making a pump up/intro video for the bridal party that will be played as they are introduced during the reception. The inspiration is that 1-2 minute video that plays at the Q before the players are introduced. It will be something similar to that.
Also, the escort cards will be placed on a foam board that will have the Cavs court/floor design on it. The board is 4 feet wide and 2 feet tall.

Well, thanks for taking the time to look at some of our ideas. I'm really excited for this and I'm glad I could share some of it with you. Once everything is all said and done, I'll come back and upload some pics from the actual wedding. Hopefully the lockout ends soon, and we can get back to basketball sometime soon.
Bye!
