My design for a new cavs logo

One of the reasons the Cavs have kept the logo from '03 for so long is because the NBA makes it extremely cost prohibitive to completely redesign your logo. It's the same reason the Jazz kept a recolored version of the mountain logo as their 'official' primary, even though they are using the classic music note logo in as many applications as possible.

is it THAT damn expensive? it bugs the hell out of me that the cavs are the only team in the league that has a logo that doesn't even match their uniforms...it looks cheap as hell...the logo doesn't even have the same colors as the uniforms. at least get rid of the friggin' blue.

How does it not have the same color as the jerseys?

We actually had navy blue jerseys in the past, I wish they'd bring them back, but the logo of the colors match the jerseys.

there is no blue in the current jerseys. we rarely use the blue jerseys. it makes no sense that logo uses more blue than yellow...

the team's TRUE colors are wine and gold...blue is not really part of the current color scheme.

But, we've had blue jerseys in the past remember?

Blue just ties into everything and fits the logo well.

I see no problem with it at all.

I have been, and always will be a giant proponent of reusing the old 70's logo. The damn thing is just beautiful.

I'd prefer a contemporized version that includes the 'Cavalier' full body ala Sir C.C. I

I'd prefer a contemporized version of this that includes the full body 'Cavalier.' I quite liked elements of the logo I posted in the new jerseys thread:

This still has that dark blue in it though unfortunately. The problem with wine & gold together by themselves is that they aren't the most complimenting and appealing combination of colors. The blue has always broken this up.

Either way, I think it's safe to say we all agree that a change needs to come from somewhere.

The logo's navy blue stopped working when the colors got updated imo

People say the blue "stopped working", but I think the blue looks even BETTER now as a contrast to the updated gold. It provides a good contrast and makes it "pop".

I bet you hate the new court design don't you?
