Myles Garrett : NFL 2023 DPOY

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They’re criticizing Myles on 92.3 the Fan for this dunking vid and even playing basketball in general because he’s putting himself at risk for injury for something non-football related. Thoughts?

I feel like this comes up every single year with an athlete from some team. Unless the Browns tell Myles not to I could care less. He should be athletic enough that he’s not injuring himself while dunking playing one versus zero.

Also, Miles looks huge in that video. I believe he is actually gotten bigger this off-season.

Pushing and pulling hundreds of lbs of weight in the gym every day? Sweet man.

Jumping thirty inches? WOOOAH SLOW DOWN

Do people expect these guys to just be stored in bubble wrap during the offseason?

Go to bars and stay out all night: approved.

Squat bars and cross train with other sports: unacceptable.

Stop listening to sports talk radio

You’re welcome

It wouldnt surprise me in the least if it came out that Myles has language in his contract that prohibit him from playing non-football related sports. I believe its probably standard practice to include language like that in all professional sports contracts.

That said really its just to protect the team in case a guy seriously injures themselves, and cant play for a while/again. So the team can either cut him, or recoup a portion of the players salary/signing bonus. Could the browns fine him, sure they could. But mostly that just pisses off the player and the rest of the team. My guess is instead someone from the Browns FO will gently remind Myles that he isnt supposed to be doing that sort of thing.

Chiefs just told Mahommes not to play basketball

Honestly it is a lot different. I workout ten Hours a week but can't get through a game of softball. Pulled my quad last night just rebounding a ball

Its tough because all of us have severely sprained an ankle playing basketball, but in reality its a great cardio workout and these players obviously need to stay in shape. I do think they need to limit some activities, like riding a motorcycle should always be a no, sky diving, and other obviously dangerous activities.

But players have gotten hurt on their stairs at home, or some have gotten hurt playing with their kids. We cant put athletes in bubble rap, so things like basketball are fine to me as long as they are cautious about doing it.

I am hoping you mean game of basketball, because my fat out of shape ass can get through a game of softball, lol.

Softball is a fucking nightmare. Swing too hard and there goes your oblique, run too fast and there's a quad or a hammy, slide and there goes all the skin off your knee, throw too hard and your shoulder it fucked or your elbow, take a line drive off any part of the body etx

LMAO, there is the problem, you take it to seriously. I used to play in a midnight drunk softball league. Really didn't have those problems, but I do see your point. Your intensity prevents you from playing friendly, fun softball.

Playing sports drunk is great. Never tense up.

I was thinking flash-frozen. You know, like the livestock some fans see them as.
