Neither were about be late, both were because he hit them high (not head, but shoulder) and ended up putting his full weight on them. But how do you avoid putting full weight if you are not pile driving them into the ground, that should be good enough.
It's such a tough situation for guys making a sack because, if you don't hit the QB hard enough, he could slip away and make a play. But if you do hit them hard, you've got about a 50/50 shot of getting flagged for it.
