National Title Game: OSU vs UF

I think Florida has a better shot then Michigan did at beating you, but then again, this is OSU's game to lose, ill look for a bunch of arrogant posts in here that say "Gators Suck, doesnt matter we will still win"

Nah..none of that..

But..

The Ohio State Buckeyes are wicked awesome..
 
Won't be any "Gators suck" from me. I know nothing about the team besides what I saw in the last game. They looked good but OSU should beable to take it.
 
I worry about the speed of Florida... I've seen them play only twice, and it's pretty apparent their defense is quick as hell..

I also worry about containment once Leak starts to 'leak out' :)uhh:).. Not only has OSU not really played a QB of this caliber this season, they haven't played one since Vince Young that can tucked it and cruise for big yards.. Granted, it is a different defense practically, but that is going to be tough in the early going..

The defense is key in this one... I think Troy will be Troy.. You just hope that all the "he plays his best in the big games" stuff doesn't go to his head (especially since Heisman Trophy winners have a less than stellar track record in NC games)... This is the finale of his career.. Hopefully he doesn't start to press... Play smooth and calm, and just pick apart the defense like Troy Smith does..

The weird part is, this Florida team reminds me alot of the 02 Buckeyes.. And I absolutely hate the fact they come in with the "underdog" moniker attached to them..
 
Florida is the best team in the nation except for OSU. So this IS the title game and it is deserved so. TT and Leak are a force that that can't be overlooked, and UF knows how to beat great teams.
 
Pip...Leak isn't a running quarterback...although he did run quite a bit against Arkansas which really surprised me.
 
It's odd I'm a fan of college football..so I tend to buy shirts from schools I like..

I stay outta the Big 10 because I hate them all minus OSU..

But I bought a Texas shirt and then I found out we played them 2 years straight and never wore it..they got to the national title game..

So this year I bought a Gators Shirt and low and behold they're in..

And Cali..I rarely buy OSU Gear because I already own about 10 different shirts and etc...

The "Florida speed", "SEC speed", "southern speed" comments kill me. Ohio State is as fast as anyone in the country, and faster than all but the elite (again, who they're just as fast as). I remember in 2002 leading up to the bowl everyone was saying "Florida speed! Florida speed! That slow footed nothern team is going to get left in the dust!" And then during the game the commentators were like "Gee, Ohio State looks just as fast as Miami!?!?" This team is faster and deeper than the 2002 team. Absolutely zero worries on the speed thing people.

As Cavs1 said, Leak isn't a running qb. Timmie T is though. (Kind of funny that the black QB is the pocket passer and the white boy with the boyish face is the scrambler.) Myers has been doing a good job with the two qb system, and have no doubt that he'll have some "special" plays ready for this one.

I'm not worried. The Buckeyes put up 41 on a Michigan defense that is just as good, if not better, than Florida's. They're going to score in bunches. Look for Troy to end his Buckeye career with a bang. Ohio State's defense doesn't have me as confident as I was before they gave up 39 to Michigan, but they are still very good. All they have to do is slow them down a little, b/c this Buckeye offense can score at will when they're focused, and Troy will have them focused. He's at his best in big games. I don't think UF will be able to keep up.

And oh yeah, special teams. We have Ted Ginn on returns (and he's due). Plus, "Ohio State's punter and kicker are about 150 times better than Florida's. That could very well be the difference in the game!" - Corso
