NBA 2k12: RCF League Season 8

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dont count me out! Im 1-10 on the season (0-10 since taking the team over)

Mike... you are going to be pissed, but I got to stay consistant.

I have to deny the Monte Ellis for Rudy Gay trade.

CDT will vouch for me when I say this. He had the Warriors in the original league we started and I vetoed his trade for Rudy Gay for the same reason.

OJ Mayo is the 2nd leading scorer on Memphis, and the only reason Memphis was talking trade with GSW for Ellis in real life was to offer him and Conley to NO for Chris Paul, per Adam Kennedy on twitter.

We talked on FB for like an hour about it. No bullshitting.

I vote no, he's their best player with a 87 overall and Mayo jumps up to like an 80 next season IIRC from my association I simulated. So he and Monte would be a wash.

I think all admins should DEF vote on this. I dont want to be the only guy who doesnt think this helps the Grizz

I obviously vote for the trade. The grizzlies, as presently constructed, are pretty jammed salary cap wise. OJ mayo is a free agent and with the money they have committed to gay, randolph, conley, and gasol they may not be able to resign him. By trading gay for Ellis/big Ben the grizzlies increase financial flexibility and their odds of
keeping mayo.

Although Ellis/Conley/mayo is not ideal it does free up 8 mil in 2013 that can be spent
to lockup OJ mayo next season and increases their total number of tradeable assets. Also, Ellis is a year younger than gay with a potential of 88 compared to gays 89 so the difference in their point totals is not that drastic...

they may not be able to resign him.

They can extend him during the season or go over the cap to resign him in the offseason. He says he is definitely resigning in Memphis and is willing to sign an extension now because "Memphis is where I want to be".

If he was wanting to gauge his value on the market, like Dante Jones was taking with me, then it would be different and you could possibly say that Memphis might let him walk. But you can go over the cap to resign your own FA's still. No hard cap on here.

I would be more open to it, if the Clippers played their 3 guards at the same time, but the CPU wont. They start Randy Foye over Mo Williams and Chauncey and they didnt play Mo or Chauncey at the 2 at all during our game.

Memphis is the 4 seed in the west and a legitimate contender. I wouldnt trade away my best player to clear space, and this is what I said to CDT

Not to mention you create a HUGE hole for them at SF with an older Sam Young being the new starter with 20pts less on his rating than Gay. They cant play two 6'3 SGs with a 6'1 PG...

I'd say no based on the grounds rch states. He's being consistent with everyone.

I understand his take but whats yours? I believe you originally wanted to trade Ellis for gay and thought it was fair at that time. Have you changed your opinion on this?

If the majority of the remaining admins don't side with me then I'm fine with my trade getting vetoed. But I think it's more valuable to hear your thoughts on the trade than your thoughts on rch's skills as a boss.

My big problem with it is how small the Griz get unless they want to play a scrub at SF. Rudy is their only SF sized wing with any skill, so their most talented line up would have to be ultra small with Conley, Ellis, Mayo on the perimeter. No one there is over 6'4''...

My logic at the time was we could trade with the CPU and net a 6 point rating gain. At the time we had 10 user teams so we were allowed 1 sort of ripoff the CPU trade however with more users that idea was scrapped and were trying to achieve a real league with logical and fair trades.

On Sunday I submitted a trade to swap Ellis for Rudy Gay. I did NOT ask for approval prior to submitting this trade as it was stated on page 44 of the thread that we should NOT do approvals on RCF.

The Grizzlies accepted my trade yesterday afternoon at which point I lost my right to cancel the transaction. After the trade was accepted the other 3 admins voted and decided to veto the trade. This was around midnight at which point I went to sleep assuming my trade would go through arbitration and I would have to look at other options. It’s at this point that I’m not sure what happened….

Rudy Gay is on my roster.

Maybe the other admins forgot to veto my trade after discussing it? Maybe the computer accepted the trade after the arbitration process? I followed the process as outlined and fully expected to wake up to see the trade pending arbitration or rejected. I believe we have 2 interesting dilemmas…

1) Is our trade process working? If the admins forgot to veto the trade then that’s one thing. If the trade was vetoed but STILL went through then we need to change our process to where all trades must be approved on RCF prior to the proposal. I’d like to reiterate that I do not believe I had the option to cancel the trade once the grizzlies accepted.
2) What do I need to do to my roster? I can offer the original trade to the Grizz (Gay/2nd for Big Ben /Ellis) but I’m not sure they’d accept it. I can offer them a trade that is beneficial to them but I don’t want to rip myself off if I don’t have to.

The system is flawed. All around. Thats been obvious to us since we restarted 3-4 times for trivial reasons.

I vetoed the trade but the cpu decided it was going to put it through anyway. Offer the exact same trade back to the cpu.

Im beyond frustrated with admins not having any power at all. And i have sent an email a day to 2k so we can get Syndek back in for the Hawks.

Do we need to require trade approvals before they can be submitted?
I think it's Divine intervention to keep the gay in the bay area where he can be himself. Do you really think Tennessee is the best place for him?:):)

It simmed our game btw, Mike...not really sure how that whole thing works

Getting my 360 in the next few days. Are there still teams available?

Yes cryptic. There are about 4-5

Yes Mike. Trade him back and from here on out all trades need majority asmin approval before being submitted on 2k
