I mean, I don't usually pay attention to these things, but aren't you supposed to celebrate your team and your accomplishments rather than trolling who you beat along the way? Has anyone ever done this?

as an IndyCar fan the only thing I can think of that comes close would be Jimmy Vasser mocking the tradition of drinking milk in 1996 when the drivers were boycotting the Indy 500 and racing at a different track the same day.

Even that was just a temporary thing, and was kind of justified under the circumstances. He would even return to the track several times after that and was overjoyed when he won it as an owner in 2013.

I seriously can't think of anything in pro or college sports where this has happened. I don't recall say, Urban Meyer or Jim Tressell mocking the Big Ten, Michigan, Oregon, Alabama or Miami when they won the title.

You know I just seriously don't get it.

You won. It's over. No need to throw the opponent under the bus. If I were in his shoes, I'd have just shrugged it off, and went "You know. They're really not on my mind right now. We just won an NBA Title, and I'm proud of what me and my team did."

This isn't Ohio State-Michigan. We're not rivals. I could get this if this was say, the Lakers or some other team that had a long standing rivalry with that piece of shit NBA franchise. But we're not. LeBron and Co. didn't do anything that you could back and go "HUH! FUCK THOSE GUYS! WE THE CHAMPS!!!!!1"

I would venture to say that this team is bordering on 2011 Miami Heat in terms of not being very likeable.

In a perfect world? These guys would have been bullied by a good team from the Eastern or Western Conference at full strength and taught some humility. They come across as the Paris Hilton of the NBA world.
They kinda remind me of the seahawks. The seahawks were everyone's darling when the won the SB. The following season, their true colors showed and everyone started to dislike them.

People who talk about how "stacked" the West is remind me of the yokel SEC homers who think Vanderbilt would win the Big 10 in football.

Since Jordan retired the West has won 12 out of 17 Finals.

I guess I was right. Healthy Cavs would have lost between 0 to 2 games in the finals to GSW. Lebron and 2nd unit/scrubs took 2 games.

I'm not sure how that proves you're right?

You did see that Golden State beat Houston, correct? In five games.

We would be champions right now had we played that team. Only one perimeter player to worry about. No small ball line-up that would have given us any real trouble. And Trevor Ariza left all by himself to guard LeBron James, becuase no one else would have a chance of doing it.

EDIT: And btw you made that post after Kevin Love was injured and after Irving was limping around the court for four straight games against Chicago. So you made the statement, that Golden State wouldn't be much of a problem, after the Cavs had already experienced the injuries. Now you're back-tracking by including "Healthy Cavs."

The Sacremento Queens comment by Shaq? That's what comes to mind, but i'm sure there is others.

GS won a title, and i'm glad for them, but they should have been down 3-0 to a team missing 2 starters, if they hadn't been hand held by the refs on about 4 blatant calls in 5 minutes.

When someone handed the mic to Iguodala, he fell down, trying to draw a charge.

Shaq and the Lakers Vs. The Kings was a legit rivalry back in the day.

Richard Sherman starting shit against the 49ers also makes a lot of sense in that context.

Rivalries are awesome. You absolutely SHOULD shit talk your opponent in that situation.

Golden State is not a rival. They are not a team anyone really "doubted" to be in the position either, so them acting like it's a "US VERSUS THE WORLD" mentality doesn't really make sense in a lot of ways. LeBron never disrespected them at all, nor did the media in any sort of matter.

Love how no one from the national media gives a damn about the Warriors' embarrassing comments. Had the Cavs been the ones saying this shit, it'd be headline news. But, because they're the golden children, no one seems to make a point of it. Here's to these fuckers never winning another title.
