Now this is definitely meant to keep us safe. All of the deaths from body armor have been getting out of hand. Thank you government for taking care of me.

Of course government agents are exempt, which is good. We wouldn't want them to be unable to defend themselves. Just make sure we are unable to defend ourselves.

Do you really think this bill is going to pass a Republican Congress? Please. Even the Democrats are scared to take on the NRA. The Republicans are paid by them.

I don't know if it will pass or not, but why would they even propose it? The whole idea of it is despicable.

I hope the guy who brought this bill to the floor invested heavily in the body armor market before bringing it to the floor.

Morons will be buying them up by the dozens thinking they'll get banned.

Dumb bills that have no chance of passing get proposed all the time. Given that Congress barely passes anything these days, almost every bill proposed has no chance of passing. :chuckle:

Have you ever watched interviews with some of these Congressmen? Most of them are really fucking stupid.

The bill was sponsored by :
Sponsor:Rep. Honda, Michael M. [D-CA-17] (Introduced 01/14/2015)

I understand someone trying to prevent the access of gun sales but body armor ? What logic does he have and how can someone get hurt via body armor?

Yeah, why shouldn't we be protected from the militarized police we have this in country?

Don't be shocked when this one actually passes.

It doesn't matter. The government doesn't take away our guns to keep the people safe, that is factually not the case anyway. They take away our guns to keep the government safe. They will take away body armor to keep us easier to kill when the need arises.

I'll never give up my chicken vest.

It's, arguably, the point.

Lol. Wake me when it passes. Until then, I'll go with my standing assumption that they can't get agree on anything.

It really is this kind of "the government is going to kill us all one day" rhetoric that turns so many people off from your (and many others) type of your philosophy.

Or maybe not the rhetoric, but the naive assumption that a vest is going to stop them if they really wanted to.

I'm honestly not sure.

Here's my issue. Anyone that thinks the gov't is screwing us is a "conspiracy theorist" and then it comes out the gov't really is screwing us, no one says a word. I don't remember how many times I was called "crazy" because I said the NSA was keeping tabs on all phone calls made in the US.

A couple years later, here's Snowden admitting they were.

A vest gives you more protection from bullets than nothing at all. It's the principle of the matter boobie.
